The historic value of this location is priceless. Upon arrival the Inn Keeper (Adam) shared some history about the property and its use as a hospital during the Civil War. Completed in 1852 mostly by slaves, the building process began 3 years earlier and the craftsmanship is superb. The breakfast this morning was 5-star all the way, from taste to... More

Spent a night with family at MHM. Everyone had a great time and Adam and Rachel were great hosts. Rooms are all beautiful and everyone is different. Breakfast was delicious and service top notch. Outdoor areas are beautiful and restful. We all enjoyed the kittens in the barn and patio areas. Miss them already. Alpacas and horses are so great... More

My husband and I just returned from 2 night stay at Maple Hill. We have stayed at many B&B throughout country. We loved our stay! Adam and Rachel have only been there 10 weeks, managing the house but they were perfect! Our room, the Jefferson Davis was clean and spacious. So quiet!! The house very well maintained...yes, some spider and... More

My daughter and I chose this place because it is convenient to the stables, Big Red Riding Stables, that we wanted to ride horses for the day. We really liked the history behind it and thought the surrounding area was just beautiful. We stayed in the Harriet Beecher Stowe room and loved how nice it was and clean. The sheets... More

This beautiful location along with the friendly and professional staff made our mother and daughter road trip even more memorable. I would love to return. The breakfast was delicious and the beds and bedding were lovely.

A wonderful setting and fantastic hosts made this stay truly memorable. Celebrated our 46th anniversary with wine and cheese on the patio under a canopy of shade trees. The morning breakfast was terrific. Adam was always ready to help and again a great host.

I so wanted to love this place. The house is charming. The rooms are great. The country setting is magnificent. The kittens in the yard are the cutest ever. And the young couple that's managing the place, you can't help but root for them to succeed. But the managers are not the owners and the owners call the shots as... More

We made a last minute decision to stay at Maple Hill Manor and the owner (Todd) was very accommodating particularly given we had our laborador with us. The place is beautiful (very Downton Abbey like)! We stayed in Lincoln Library which had floor to ceiling bookshelves filled with historic relics and a staircase that was originally used as a service... More

Each room has a special theme and large and spacious. The upstairs rooms are air conditioned with window units. The B&B is historic after all. Also the bathrooms are not overly special gut they are clean and they are not historic. The public rooms are really nice and comfortable but not opulent. The grounds are great to stroll and sit... We went with high expectations based on online glowing recommendations. When we drove up, the building and setting were gorgeous. However, from there, most everything left something to be desired. We walked in and discovered that our room was directly off the front hall -- literally two steps from the front door where everyone entered and exited the building. Adding... More

Todd A, Owner at 1851 Historic Maple Hill Manor Bed & Breakfast, responded to this review

It appears that this Guest could not be satisfied with anything about her stay. Sometimes customers arrive with unreasonable expectations. We regret that she was so disappointed with so many aspects of her visit. It is apparent that all her reviews are negative - not just about our business, but with every business she posts reviews. We hope readers will... More
