Getting to the room was a real challenge considering I was handicapped with a service dog! ADA would have a field day here considering nothing was in compliance!! After getting to the room the Mountain View was nice! The bed was hard and of course the room was outdated! Breakfast was Hot and Good! All in all it was not worth the money we paid and we won’t be back anytime soon!

The views were amazing. It was so peaceful. The pool was a walk in pool and was off to itself. They offered mini golf. We enjoyed the games that were in another area of the hotel. The hotel has a rustic feel. Great for families

Stated in an older cabin. Was in good shape, clean and spacious. Bed was horrible way to old? Soft. Location nice and our dog loved it. WiFi non existed. Needed to go to the lodge and WiFi there was weak. Pool, restaurant and lounge ares very nice. Biked and hiked.

Stayed in the lodge and each room has a balcony with beautiful views of the mountains. Rooms are nice with comfortable beds. Floors are wood look vinyl. The chairs need updated or at minimum could use some felt underneath because they are super noisy when moved. I say that because you can hear them moved in adjacent rooms. Note: lots of rock steps for anyone handicapped but they do have areas handicap accessible.

We stayed in cabin 215, one of the rustic log cabins built by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) during the depression. Beautiful stone fireplace (fully functional), they also supply wood during cold nights, wood crew dropped off our wood every morning. All modern amenities in cabin: heat, AC, full kitchen and bath, dishes and linens provided. We came primarily for hiking which was great. Many trails of various difficulties in park. Honeymoon falls trail not hard and very pretty. Chained rock trail fairly easy with good mountain views. Laurel cove trail to Powderhorn arch and rocky point quite hard but the arch is interesting. We did it from top traihead to arch then back up but can be done as a shuttle hike if you have 2 vehicles. We did not eat at the lodge restaurant but did a quick walk through and it looked nice. Cumberland Gap National park is only 15 miles away and well worth a full day visit for nature, hiking and history. You can hike to the 3 state junction here where Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky all meet. WARNING...Google maps went full stupid here and kept trying to take us into the town of Cumberland Gap, Tenn. Which is a nice enough town but not our planned destination. Just follow road signs for the national park and you can't miss it. It's on Route 25E near the big tunnel just south of Middlesboro, KY. Middlesboro is a fair sized town with plenty of stores, restaurants, etc. and only 13 miles to Pine Mountain SP. Also nearby and worth a visit is Wilderness Road State park just over the border in Virginia. Historically accurate rebuild of an old wilderness fort complete with interpretive staff on hand (check park schedule for staffing hours).

I can’t say enough about how great this place was for us. The lodge rooms are very reasonable. The rooms are dated but they contain the mod cons that one needs to stay connected to the world. Our room had a balcony with a great view of the mountains that we woke up to each morning. The lodge is part of the park and is within a few meters of many of the trails. Maps and guidebooks galore exist within the lodge as well as a restaurant, full bar, and game room. The trails are unique - a rock chained to the side of the mountain so it doesn’t cream the town below, for one. The best thing here that we found though were the employees, and highlighting one here to give you more ideas on things to do here. I was checking out a petrified tree outside of the lodge when this young man, Ethan, comes out of nowhere and offers to open up the nature center. This doesn’t happen all that often to us, so we agreed. Ethan starts telling us about all the animals - like he KNEW them all - pulls a bunch of them so he can point out things about that particular animal. So, if you’ve ever had a desire to pet a snake, feel the fur of a bobcat or see a snapping turtle up close - you can go to the front desk and ask if they can open the nature center. it was one of our highlightS, in no small part due to Ethan’s enthusiasm, and i am sure it will be for you as well.

We spent the weekend in one of the 1BR cabins. The cabin was rustic but clean! We enjoyed our time there. Great cable service although there is no WiFi and service is only 1-2 bars. We didn’t use the kitchen really but full sized appliances and nice setup. We ate in the restaurant which was great. Hiked several of the trails. Great property and all staff were very friendly. Awesome views!!

I would love to give more stars because I value our state parks but it wouldn’t be doing anyone a service. The lodge is in a great location and the views are amazing. The rooms do not have a refrigerator or microwave. Rooms also could be cleaner. Overall loved the park just wish we would expect more out of our state lodges. Also, staff was very friendly. Staff gets 5 stars.

Great resort. Rooms were clean. On site restaurant had great service and great food. There are cabins and hotel rooms, so options for everyone. Beautiful views from the rooms and from the restaurant! We were a large group of 16 and our arrival was late. The restaurant stayed open late for us. Thank you to all the staff at this great resort.
