Cumberland Gap on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee has a majestic wildness about it that is truly breathtaking. Factor in a beautiful, secluded tucked-away private lodge complete with choice of modern hotel rooms or rustic cabin units complete with fireplace and kitchen with full bath and you have the makings of a very Real Get-away! There is a pool... More

We rented a cabin at Pine Mountain State Park in Pineville Ky. The facilities are run down and need to be updated. The place is as clean as their personnel could make it but upkeep such as replacing rotted wood, updating furniture, keeping the pool in working order ( it was closed over Memorial weekend because of a pump problem)... We drove up to see Cumberland Gap and stayed in Middlesboro KY, and drove over to see the views. It was lovely. Nice trails and good roads to get around. We would definitely come back. It's a nice quite community not real commercialized.

This state park is no Ritz Carlton, or Holiday Inn Express, for that matter. However, it is as good as it gets to understanding what Daniel Boone & settlers saw as they foraged the Wilderness Trail through this area. The Lodge, cabins & cottages are nestled in the woods and has a spectacular view from the dining room, which would... More

We recently had the opportunity to spend most of a week at the park. I rarely more than one review for a location, but thought it would be worthwhile in this case. As always, the views are spectacular and staff friendly. The restaurant was up and running normal hours. The thing that stood out most about this trip was the... More

We felt like we were staying in Abe Lincoln's cabin, but with all the comforts of today. Kitchen, bath, living and bedrooms all were modern and comfortable - including heat and A/C. Other reviewers have complained about the darkness of the cabin. True, it could use another window in the main room, but during the day we were out enjoying... More

I first experienced Pine Mountain resort and its lodge nearly 40 years ago when I was a child. I'm glad to say it's every bit as spectacular as I'd remembered. And since the last visit, I've explored 5 other continents and most of the U.S. The lodge looks like a smaller version of the rustic lodge near Old Faithful at... More

We opted to push on through the over-night accommodations in town and make our way on up the mountain to the lodge. "Surprise." We stumbled into a timely treat. Being "off season" we chose the cabin down the hill about a 1/4 mile from the resort and got a great rate for the night (half what we would have paid... More

If I could give any advice for bride-to-be's, it would be to reconsider getting married at Pine Mountain!! Worst mistake I ever made! They rented out the rooms that I had reserved and everyone would tell me something different as far as pricing, decor, food, etc. Also, the lodge rooms are extremely dated. Definitely not worth what you pay. I... More

We stayed in one of the cabins and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean and fully equipped with a full kitchen and nice rock fireplace. Split wood was stacked on the porch. The only things I wish we would have have brought with us, or they included would be a bit of kindling wood or a fire-starter log, paper and... More
