What a wonderful park. We stayed in a 1 bedroom rustic cabin. Can't say the bed or love seat were comfortable, but the cabin itself was great! Hope to go back someday. The staff (2 young college students)at the lodge was very nice & helpful.

Beautiful old oak construction lodge on the Ridgetop of the KY Tennessee border. With full service restaurant on site and floor to ceiling glass panorama dining room. Sunset over the southern Appalachian range throws you back to the ice age 8000 years ago which sculpted these outcroppings from their original 15000 feet down to between 3 and 4 thousand feet.

Thanksgiving in the mountains is a great get away from it all. Fall weather is crisp and refreshed nag to get away from the city life. The front desk was very accommodating when we arrived. The lodge was not open just yet so they put us up in a cabin with fireplace at no extra cost for me me night... More

This Kentucky State Park Resort is in a nice setting deep in the woods on a high ridge with fantastic views from the room balconies. The first impression driving in was one of isolation (a good thing) and the hotel from the parking lot looks great in that setting. The lobby area is small and unimpressive. Desk clerk had a... The drive up the mountain, the view from the room and the dining room picture window views are wonderful. The rooms are recently updated with really nice mattresses. The catfish dinner is very lightly fried and delicious. Great place to get away. Took hike to Chained Rock. Endurance test coming back up. Trail ends at big rock face that has... More

We spent last weekend at the Lodge (10.9.2015). It was wonderful! The rooms had been updated since our last stay a few years ago and the fall foliage was incredible. The staff was attentive to our need and the Lodge Restaurant was superb for both dinner and breakfast. We were disappointed to learn they no longer feature a buffet each... More

The cabin was cozy--gas fireplace was nice and new bathroom was lovely and the furniture was Old Hickory repro. We moved to the lodge because the sofa bed was terrible and there were no views. Lodge rooms were lovely but had less character. The view, however, was amazing. We could see successive ridges down the long valley and the morning... More

I have been to this Park several times in the last 6 or 7 years. Every time, the experience has been consistently good. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Usually, I stay in rooms in the lodge but this time, I booked late and had to move after two days from a room... More

This place exceeded all expectations. The log cabins were clean, well-appointed and had a good central heating system. The main lodge is attractive, and there is a wonderful view from the dining room. The food is competent, and cheap. As is the wine list, but don't expect alcohol on Sunday. There are pleasant but unchallenging walks nearby. Portal 31, the... More

And it just went wrong from arrival! First let me say the staff was very friendly and I think genuinely tried to help. And the scenery is beautiful. I booked online and specified an ADA compliant room as my wife is in a wheelchair. I called the day we left as I did not receive a confirmation email. But when... More
