When we got there it was pouring rain. Spent 1st night in rain but picked up the schedule and found many things for the kids to do even if it did keep raining. When in to the store and the campground and asked Michael if they had any room anywhere. He set us up a bunkhouse, telling us it was... More

Food was good, not much of a selection on the menu though. Hotels were great, but the ac and heat were finicky and the maid service was slow the first day of my visit. Schedule needs to be worked out better. What we did was fun though. All of the problems were very minor.

The room was nice along with the staff. I am going to take the high road. The bathroom was clean but it could use a new shower curtain. The bedding and bed were lacking and it looked to me like burn holes in the comforter. I think for the money they are charging they could upgrade the bedding and beds.... More

My daughter and I spent two days at Carter Caves and enjoyed it very much. The dining room food was good, and the room was clean and every thing worked. I hiked the 3 Bridges trail twice and the we did the two cave tours. It was a fun little getaway!

My family lives in Huntington, WV and have been enjoying trips to Carter Caves since my kids were tiny (they are now 10 and 11). We love to bring a bucket to catch and release crawdads and minnows and have a great time just walking around enjoying the abundance of nature. We have taken all of the cave trips (some... More

I've been here twice in the last three weeks. Three weeks ago was my horse camping trip. The equestrian camp sites offer high-line and hitching posts. There wasn't much shade during the day but we weren't there anyway. We were enjoying the trails beneath the breezy canopy of trees. The campsites are pull-thru and offer full hookup and the bathouse... More

Thank you so much for your posting. Our horse campground area is new to us and unfortunately the shade trees are very limited. We hope to some trees we have planted someday will take care of that. We look so forward to your return trip. More

We stayed 3 days 2 nights and wished we would have booked another just to get in all the activities this resort has to offer. Camping along the outer loop you will find your best sites, inner loops I would suggest for multiple families due to the proximity to each other. We did not find any noise issues as others... More

We chose to camp at Carter caves resort park due to some good overall reviews on internet. Upon arrival we quickly realized that the primitive tent camping area was very congested with people on top of each other. I agree with some other reviews, area was very loud way past the quiet time making sleeping impossible. The restrooms were very... More

So sorry to hear that your stay was not up to your standards. The restrooms situation is not acceptable and have I have addressed this issue with the supervisor. Our mini-golf area is indeed showing its age. We have over the winter attempted to revamp some of it and are still in the process of doing so. The playgrpound area... More

Nice small lodge with adequately appointed rooms. Before going check to see if they are having youth group in for the weekend. Since the lodge only has 28 rooms noise could be an issue. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The hiking trails are memorable with great views... More

What a fun find! We stayed one night at the lodge (they have a teacher discount). We ate dinner and breakfast there and it was a nice surprise to find that kids 5 and under eat free.
