Carter caves is a staple of my childhood memory and a favorite place to visit, still. The lodge and cabins are accurately shown in their website. They aren't fancy and definitely give the feel of a motel from the 90s but the visual tour is accurate. The park is well maintained and fun to hike. Lots to do for many... More

My husband and I spent the weekend of 10/30/2015 until 11/1/2015. We wanted to enjoy the end of the beautiful fall foliage at a place that offered a variety of activities, and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the lodge. The room was basic but clean, and the bed was comfortable. We played golf on Friday then had dinner... More

Amazing, beautiful park to hike and enjoy the scenery and the caves, however the overnight accommodations at the lodge did not measure up to the quality of other KY State Parks where we have stayed. The first room we were assigned smelled like animals we changed rooms immediately but had the same smell in the next. The room had a... More

Thank you for your post and most of all thank you for your visit. The back decks are indeed in need of attention and our hopes are to get that done in the near future, hopefully by Spring. The hot water issue just today was resolved. We have had some work being done behind the lodge and a valve had... More

We spent 3 nights here. We arrived on a Monday night in the dark. We called ahead and told them we would be late. They put our reserved market by the site so we found it ok. Waking up the next morning, Tuesday, I was shocked at the amount of trash everywhere. I have never seen so much garbage (everything... More

Thank you for your post. I have shared your comments with our campground staff and have instructed them that garbage is to be picked up daily. We do not provide garbage cans at each site. We do have 3 centrally located dumpsters throughout the campground area. As for the supplies it is close to closing the campground for the season... More

This room was rented for us, by family. The location of the lodge is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of wildlife. Racoons are everywhere because they enjoyed eating the decorative indian corn. The room was nice and clean. It passed my bedbug check. There isn't any carpet in the rooms. The floors were faux wood and that was nice. We didn't... More

My family toured two of the caves. The tour guides were very nice and informative. My son loved the gem/fossil mining at the visitor center and is must do for young children. He wanted to go back the following day. We will be back during our next visit to the area.

Our family loves camping at Carter Caves. It is a very nice and clean campground. I am very glad to see the upgrade they are doing on the bath house. I do hope they put in more camping spots with electric and water sites. Also the employees at the camp ground is always hard at work. Keep up the good... More

This park is very educational with great hiking an tours of caves. Children love this park!
