My lady friend and I come down here to the lodge for a three day mini vacation every spring. We arrive on Sunday and stay three nights during the week. The lodge is more 1960ish quaint than fancy, but it is in a beautiful setting away from everything. The rooms are going to someday have to be refurbished, but they... More

We stayed at the camp grounds in our camper. We had a couple problems and the staff went out of their way to help. We had a pleasant stay. The trails are beautiful and the facilities are well kept. Will definitely go back.

Stayed here Apr 26 2013 1 night as a test for my kids, myself and my cobbled together camping gear. I stayed in the primitive camp, $18 at site 100. This was as far away from everyone as I could get was one of the most level sites on the campground I found which was a bonus. The campgrounds were... More

I visited Carter Caves in the fall, wanting to get some hiking in before winter set in. I stayed at the lodge and found it very comfortable. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent. In fact, it's the only state park that I've stayed at where you can order your food ahead... More

This park is just a few miles off I-64 and makes an excellent alternative to Days Inn, Super 8, etc. The Lodge is closed for part of the winter, and we (two adults and our dog) stayed in one of the cottages. Our off-season rate was about $85 plus $26 for the dog. The cottage is well-equipped with two bedrooms,... More

This was our last camping hoorah before winterizing our camper. The campground was not very crowded at all. The roads in the campground are tight. So if you have a bigger camper lookout. We were in site 57. We had to pull up the site poles and back in carefully. Most of the state parks have smaller roads & campsites,... More

Welcome to Carter Caves State Resort Park where your dogs are always welcome. The first criteria for travel in my pack is, "are you dog friendly?" The answer is a big yes for all of the Kentucky State Resort Parks. Resort Parks means that there is a lodge in the park. All of these Resorts Parks have at least 2... More

We stayed at the lodge for two nights, in one of the pet friendly rooms. I must say, it is the nicest state park room I have stayed in. My dad works for the state, so I've stayed in many. The room had laminate flooring for easy clean up (I'm assuming that was a perk reserved for the pet friendly... More

Our group of 30 stayed at the lodge in September, found the park to be quite pleasant and relaxing. Rooms in the lodge are clean and have a balcony overlooking the woods. The restaurant on site was too handy to ignore. Going anywhere else would have been too much effort. Wi-fi is free, breakfast is under $10. This is no... More
