The studio/cottage was well equipped , electric fire kept the place warm ,laundry room there has washing machine, dryer , plus there is fresh towels available just have to ask as the lady came to see what we needed , barbecue and out door... I took a group of 17 and stayed at Port Huon cottages for 3 nights. We all loved it and found them very clean, comfortable and wow what a great view of the river. We definately stay there again. Only difficulty is some cabins are on a side of a slope. We had several senior folk who although dont like... More

These "cottages" were very clean with good sheets & towels provided. Kitchen appliances were totally adequate & everything worked well. We only stayed one night but think it would be a nice place for a weekend. It is definitely not the normal definition of a cottage but it is a good place to stay right across the road from the... The cottages were very clean and although they weren't large rooms, they were comfortable for two people. There is plenty to see and do in the Huron valley so give yourself more than two days . Wished we stayed longer.

Pros- Clean and tidy, great views nice cooking setup and quite modern Cons- very little privacy, bed is rock hard and linen is fresh out of the 80,s. quite poky and small. Reminded me of staying in a caravan park cottage but its a bit newer. Not really romantic at all.

We have just stayed in Port Huan Cottages during a spell of nasty cold weather so early in autumn and thoroughly enjoyed watching the storms brewing over the lake and the mountains beyond from inside our lovely unit. I was surprised to find these negative comments about Port Huan Cottages. For this very moderate price you don't usually get such... More

The cottage we stayed at was roomy, clean and comfortable. The bed bed was firm and just right. Wish there was a choice of pillows. With the room in the cottage, surely a couch could have been provided, would have made it even more comfortable. The views are beautiful. Only drawback was the steps to get down to the cottage... We stayed in a 1 br cottage and really enjoyed our time by using this place as a base. The views from the cottage over the water were lovely and it was very clean. The pillows were a little hard but ok. We had a couch so we were lucky! The basic cooking requirements were provided. We travelled to Bruny... More

Booked a room for a romantic getaway. The room was clean however most definitely not designed as a romantic location. Instead of a 2 seater couch that would allow you to sit by each other, it had 2 separate chairs. Very impersonal. Heater was barely adequate. Decided to take a lay down only to find the bed was like laying... More

We stayed one night in Feb. 2011 & were impressed with the cleanliness & fitout although we did not cook. Our unit was close to the car park so we did not have to carry our cases far & we were also well back from the main road so traffic noise did not bother us, but either of these situations... More
