Golden Pond resort is located along the southern border of Lake Cumberland in KY. The mailing address is Monticello, KY, but the locals will tell you they live in Wayne County.
The resort is very well taken care of. The owners are very attentive to your needs and are there to help or answer questions. We stayed in the Ginger Chalet, which overlooks a nice sized pond with a fountain and paddle boat. Fishing is allowed without a license since it is a private pond. The resort also has an outdoor pool, which my children loved!
Conley Bottom Marina is less than 10 mins away, so you can rent a boat or dock it there for the week. There is also plenty of room at Golden Pond Resort to stash a boat or ATVs.
Be aware that nice restaurants are up around Burnside and Somerset, probably a 20-30 min. drive. In Monticello, about 10-15 mins away, there are a lot of fast food restaurants and a nice Chinese Buffet that my family tried-very good!
