A business collegue suggested the hotel as it was easy for him to pick me up at this location. If I return to area, I would find another hotel. On the positive side, the hotel staff was very nice & accomodating. When I was there, the hotel was practically empty. I was literally the only customer in the bar or... more

The staff was nice but that is where it ended. The hotel was dirty from top to bottom. In the common areas there were burned out lights, dirty carpet, numerous ceiling tiles in need of replacement. The room was even worse. I was shocked that this property was part of the Marriott family. I was traveling with clients and we... more

Not your "average" Marriott....in a bad way. This place is old and in dire need of an extreme makeover. Located in an industrial area, you'd be nuts to stay here over the newly remodeled Hyatt down the road or the excellent choices (Staybridge Suites, Hampton Inn, etc.) one exit east on Blankenbaker. The only redeeming quality about this hotel is... more

I stayed at this hotel the week of July 13-19, 2008, for a business conference. I stayed here the same week in 2007 for the same event. This hotel is adequate for a pleasant stay in Louisville, and I would recommend it for others looking for a hotel nearby. It is not located in the downtown area, but it is... more

I was dreading my stay at this hotel after reading the other reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. For a larger hotel I didn't experience the fragmentation that ususally happens where no one wants to do someone elses job. This was a big hotel but everyone worked together and helped out to resolve issues. The hotel isn't good without a... more

I stayed at this hotel when I was in town for client business. Overall, this hotel does not meet my expectations for a Marriott. A Marriott should be about half way between a moderate travelers hotel (e.g. a recently renovated Holiday Inn) and a high end hotel (e.g. Ritz-Carleton). This hotel is more like an unrenovated Holiday Inn from the... more

I recently stayed here while attending a trade show. I must say I could not have been more dissapointed. Check in was dissorganized. Room are old and in need of a update. Cracks and stains in the bathrooms. Marriott shower heads were somewhat of a saving grace. As well as the beds. The maids yelling down the hallway on the... more

I stayed at the Louisville Marriott East in June 2006 for business. I am generally unimpressed with the Marriott brand, but this one was a modestly pleasant surprise. It was easy to find and easy to access. Instead of the usual oppressive lobby atmosphere, I found a beautiful atrium area with glass elevators, plants everywhere, lots of sunshine. Lobby, hallways,... more

The atmosphere there was such that I feel I have to let others know of the excellence of this hotel. Everything was certainly clean and well thought out, but the most impressive was the staff. Everyone was extremely cordial and asked if they could help us in any way. This was true from the valet parking attendant, to the front... more
