i recently stayed at this hotel for one night during a business trip., The pros: - The checkin / checkout was swift and the front receptionist was very helpful. - The hotel is in a pretty good location and has a very lively bar within the hotel premise that seems to be very popular. The cons: - The room size... More

I so wanted to give this hotel a 4 out of 5 rating, and, to be fair, it was kind of close. The location was amazing, The hotel is right next to 4th street live, which has a whole cornucopia of bars and restaurants, as well as a lot of varied genres of live music. The Seelbach itself is about... More

From the moment we pulled up we were made to feel very welcome at the Seelbach. The hotel was beautiful from top to bottom. Is the hotel perfect in every way? Of course not, the bathrooms are very small. But I consider this trivial. I can't wait to come back in the future. Thanks for a great stay!!

A grand hotel with character and southern charm run by a great staff paying attention to all the little details that make your stay special. Lobby, rooms and amenities just make this place welcoming and comfortable. Everything you's expect from a Southern Charmer!

Lovely historic lobby w/grand staircase & marble, beautiful bar & Oak Room. Problems checking in w/ a car--valet nowhere to be found both checking in and out--shouldn't be unattended for so long. Fast friendly service @ front desk but no mention of items like Rathskeller. Room smaller than usual (as expected) but bathroom tiny w/smallest vanity ever, especially for room... More

I am so sorry to hear about the unsatisfactory elements from your recent stay. A Grand lobby does not make up for poor Room Service, poor Valet service and malfunctioning HVAC. There is no excuse for the lack of available Valet team members upon check in and check out. Likewise there should have been appropriate action taken with Room Service... More

I spent a couple of nights at this hotel on the recommendation of local colleagues that it is a convenient base for being in Louisville. Indeed, they were correct. This hotel has a very central location and it is within walking distance of many venues. It is about six blocks to the riverfront, i.e., the Ohio River. It is a... More

The building was the only nice thing about this hotel - undoubtably beautiful, but pretty is as pretty does. The staff was neither helpful nor polite (except the valet guys). Our room was not the least bit luxurous, the bed not particularly comfortable and you had to pay for WiFi. The only movie channel was HBO. I was traveling with... More

Kate, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts from your recent visit. I am disappointed to learn that you had such a disappointing experience here at the Seelbach. Comments that some of our team members were, "not helpful or friendly," is of great concern. I would love the opportunity to follow up and gather details from your... More

I love the best of historic, restored hotels & this is one of them! Staying at the hotel contributed to a wonderful family vacation to Louisville, KY. Definitely ask the front desk about the history of the hotel. Be sure to see the room of Rookwood pottery & have brunch in the Oak Room! We also toured the ballroom, of... More

I'm a sucker for well preserved/restored historic hotels but they don't always live up their billing and, at times, the staff seems dedicated to making you feel unworthy to even be there. The Seelbach is every bit of what it says it is and more. From the grand staircase to the old Seebach Bar to the dignified yet welcoming manner... More

Andrew I must thank you for such a wonderful review! I know the busy schedules of our business travelers does not always allow them the time to share thoughts from their stay. We greatly appreciate the feedback. I am sorry to hear that other historic hotels have left you with an "unworthy" feeling. You will not find that here at... More

We were in town for the PGA Tournament last weekend and chose to stay at the historic Seelbach Hilton. The location is incredible! It is next door to the 4th Avenue Live district which has many restaurants, bars and entertainment. It is a pedestrian only area at night. The service at the hotel was excellent. Very nice front desk staff... More
