4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

I had heard the rooms were small, so I wasn't sure about staying at the Seelbach, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Although the rooms were smaller than some hotel rooms in the city, they were by no means too small, and the décor and atmosphere of the hotel more than made up for it. I can only compare this... Had great service from very friendly frontdesk folks and the rooms were alright. The lobby and the bar area is where the age and personality of the property really shines. It's also fun walking around as there are lots of places around the block to dine and wine.

I went to see John Mellencamp at the Louisville Palace (AMAZING!!!) and I decided to stay at the Seelbach because it was within walking distance of the Palace! From the moment you enter the doors you are surrounded by history. The lobby is stunning and it doesn't stop there. The hotel has loads of character. I was in room 718... More

The room we had was a little small, but it seems others had bigger rooms...they are inconsistent in size. While the hotel was nice, it was late in the afternoon before the room was cleaned. Most of the staff was friendly but the front-desk staff (females) did not seem to appreciate the group I was with's humor, friendliness and exuberance.... More

First time in Louisville, Won't be the last👍 great room. Service exceptional. Polite and very accommodating at all times. Very clean and a very delicious buffet breakfast everyday. Wanted for nothing. Right in the heart of entertainment💥💥💥

Terrible experience advise anyone staying in Louisville to stay elsewhere as the staff has no knowledge or empowerment to fix anything. You will still be charged the same 4 star rate for a terrible experience with no working amenities in the hotel room.

Very small bathroom, We had room service and I left a 10 dollar tip, and was surprised to see on checkout that I was charged 100 dollars for the tip. The breakfast was terrible. I ordered a waffle ($15), and it was no different than a leggo waffle. It didn't even melt the butter. We left the room at 8:30... More

Timothy, you and I spoke at the Front Desk the morning of your departure. As I had mentioned then, I regret that we did not turn your experience around prior to your departure. As I promised, I immediately reviewed the Room Service ticket and confirmed my suspicions. The Room Service attendant had accidentally punched in an additional zero when assessing... More

Beautiful old hotel with a rich, interesting history. The bar in the rathskeller is enjoyable with a wide ranging drink menu--including an eponymous champagne-based Seelbach Cocktail--and very knowledgable staff. Unfortunately, the more convenient street-level bar is under renovation and currently closed. The typical rooms are quaint but very comfortable and well laid out given the size restrictions. The $27 daily... More

Thank you for the wonderful review! We are honored that you and your significant other were able to pay a visit to our historic property. It seems that you were able to sample the finest offerings in and outside the hotel. The Seelbach Cocktail is a classic and I am glad you enjoyed our signature libation. As beautiful a setting... Love the elegant staircase in lobby. Front desk staff were very accommodating. Room decor was depressing. Sitting room was drab. Queen bed was very comfortable and luxurious. Bathroom needed a counter on sink and a larger mirror. Attended a wedding reception in ballroom on 10th floor. Beautiful room and food was good. Overall a nice experience; thus, a 4 star... More

Please accept our sincere thanks for the lovely and constructive review. I am so glad we were able to achieve the WOW factor with our lobby, Grand Ballroom and Front Desk service. However, it seems we have opportunity for improvement with some of our guest room features and amenities. We certainly appreciate a 4 out of 5 review, but our... More

Hotel is old and historical. Super small elevators and small rooms. Breakfast will cost you $25-$30+ per person. I got pancakes which were $13- and a side of bacon which was SEVEN DOLLARS. Coffee was $4. So- you're looking at close to $30 with tax. The bar in the basement is terrific. The location is right next to all of... More
