The room was clean and nice but more the typical size of European hotel rooms, because this is a historic hotel. There is a incredible fantastic banquet type room in the lowest level with wood ceilings and pelican wood carvings on walls and posts, old family crests, gold and leather accents. It served AL Capone in his day and the... More

I recently stayed here on quick overnight trip to Louisville. The hotel is in good location with lots of places to eat nearby. The lobby is quite grand, and very historic. The are nice, but also show the age of the hotel. My room was small, with a tiny bathroom, The rooms are not soundproof, so you can easily hear... More

Beautiful lobby and good service but it is a bit of a disappointment from there. This hotel is old and tired once you reach your floor. Ask for a room on the main hallway off the elevator. The rooms and bathrooms on the wings are way too small. We are not in Europe! Redecorate and update.....right now the rooms are... More

If you are looking for a hotel with lots of character, this hotel is great. It is a perfect blend of historical charm and modern updates, while maintaining the integretity of the era the hotel was built. If that is not your style, the hotel may not be for you.

Never been to Louisville but needed to be there so I reserved a room at a premium Hilton property. As with the Drake in Chicago and the Roosevelt in New Orleans, the Seelbach is an older property that has been updated as much the structure would seem to allow. The executive club breakfast is the best of those 3 properties.... More

Beautiful old building in downtown Louisville, next to 4th Street Live (not appealing to me and my husband, but 4th St. Live is a short stretch of street blocked for pedestrian access, filled with bars, restaurants, and loud drunks.) Anyhow, the hotel is well-maintained and historically pretty. Grand lobby with curving staircase, very picturesque. A bunch of prom kids were... More

My husband was staying here for a conference and I joined him for the weekend. The good: Very pretty lobby and downstairs bar. Friendly, prompt, and tasty room service. Good valet staff. Comfortable bed. Nice toiletries. The bad: awkward, dim, and uncomfortable lobby. No place to get basics or gift shop. Concierge was not very good at advising on transportation... More

I have stayed at The Seelbach on numerous trips to Louisville and have found each time an enjoyable experience. I love the charm of this hotel. It's not like your "normal" hotel......it's just great. I love the rooms and the bedding is amazing. The staff is so incredibly full of Southern charm.

We had a wonderful stay on Friday, April 17th. My husband, parents and myself were traveling together and chose to stay here because of its location and because we got a wonderful rate. The ambiance of this hotel was as good as any I have ever stayed. The mailboxes on the doors, the grand staircase, and the front entrance were... More

A friend and I were in town for a concert. The hotel is in an excellent location in downtown Louisville near many major attractions including fabulous restaurants, 4th Street Live, and the KFC Yum Center. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and everyone we encountered was extremely nice and helpful. We did not take advantage of any special amenities or on-site... More
