My sister and I, from Nashville, met our cousins, from Cleveland, OH, for a girls weekend in Louisville, roughly halfway between all of us. I had found the Aleksander House when searching for girls' getaways. Nancy, the owner, had put together a package for two nights, up to four people, including water and soda, a bottle of wine, a pizza... More

I was overnight in Louisville on my way to Detroit. My meeting in Detroit was pushed forward, so I had to leave the B&B very early in order to be on time. I'm sorry I missed breakfast. Upon arrival I met Nancy, who gave me a tour of the home, and a little of her personal history (I asked). I... More

Cool house, good food, splendid company. Location was close enough to be within easy striking distance of downtown and Churchill Downs. I recommend this location without reservation. Stayed for a weekend in Louisville I'll remember for the rest of my life.

Nice place to stay in Louisville, however a few clarifications are in order. Parking is not provided as listed on the website...parking is on the street and typically available within a block. The booking contract listed "full gourmet breakfasts, and a champagne brunch". There are no accommodations if you have an early flight, and excuses are made by the owner... More

It is unfortunate that this particular guest focused on what she considered to be negatives, rather than the many positives and the obvious work and detail that were put in for weeks to provide her party with a positive Derby experience. I was surprised she did not mention (in her review) any of the ways in which we tried to... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Aleksander House a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it. The room was charming with plenty of room and even a mini-fridge. The bed was outstandingly comfortable and you cannot beat the price. Nancy was wonderful to us and we very much enjoyed her company. Great location, close to everything and cost effective.... More

I loved staying at Aleksander House! My room was elegant and spacious with a huge four-poster bed. I had the third floor to myself while there, with a bathroom right outside of my room. Nancy, the owner, is a wonderfully sweet and accomodating person. She was even able to provide me with delicious gluten-free vegan breakfasts and was very knowledgeable... More

Beautiful rooms, attentive service, amazing food, and lots of great extras (cookies, snacks, reading materials, teas). Like a perfect European getaway in the middle of old Louisville. You won't be disappointed!

The innkeeper at the Aleksander House is absolutely the most interesting, inspiring, and FUN person I have EVER met in a B&B. I prefer to travel to B&Bs than hotels specifically for people like HER. The rooms are lovely, the breakfast (she accommodates vegans!!) is both yummy and GORGEOUS... can't say enough good things. It was the perfect place for... More

This was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast. We really enjoyed ourselves. Nancy was a very gracious host. The house and rooms were very clean, and the food was delicious. I have special dietary needs, and Nancy so generously accommodated those needs. I would definitely recommend the Aleksander House.

My partner and I stayed in the Katherine room which was booked as a Birthday surprise for me and what a surprise it was. From entering the house the decor was stunning was like we had travelled in a time machine. Nancy is a lovely kind hearted soul and kept us entertained for the short time we was there and... More
