From the greeting (thanks, Jason!) and warm welcome (thanks Maggie and Rudy!) to the delicious breakfast the morning after, our stay at the Samuel Culberston Mansion was fantastic! We stayed in the President's Suite, and it was so romantic. The Victorian style was adorable, and the fact that the owner and main attendant were so attentive and friendly made our... More

Gorgeous is an understatement when describing the amazing décor of this historic home. Antiques cover every inch of every room, and the lighting treatments are the showpieces. However, all this beauty is eclipsed by the warmth and hospitality we felt every minute of our stay. We are looking forward to our next trip. Did I forget to mention the BOURBON... More

Sometimes you have to leave the cares of work and world behind you and take a step back into a place in time when life was not so hectic. I am sure 1897 had it's own problems, but The Culbertson Mansion is the perfect place for a girl's getaway these days! Our rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated with antiques,... More

Everything was great: getting there was easy, parking was no problem, Rudy and staff were gracious, the SCM is stunning, our bedroom (The East Room) was lovely, the bath was old-world elegant, and breakfast both mornings were delicious. Then there were all the pluses: the bourbon sauce (+++++!), the grand piano Rudy graciously let me play since I am a... More

We stayed 3 nights (Memorial Day weekend) at the Samuel Culbertson Mansion Bed and Breakfast in Old Louisville. This was our first experience at a B & B and we really didn't know what to expect. Walking in the front door was like stepping back in time. It is easy to imagine life at the turn of the century in... More

We took a weekend trip to Louisville but didn't want to spend an arm and leg on lodging. I only booked the place because it had affordable options. Upon arrival we were completely wowed. The inside is gorgeous. Our room was spacious and the entire home was well kept. The staff are very friendly. Our breakfast was delicious, too. I... More

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....We don't like hotels...we like B&B's...and we LOVE historic house B&B's! The older, the better! We adore the ambiance and atmosphere, the character that can only be acquired through age. So if you are of similar mind, the Samuel Culbertson Mansion is the only place to consider staying in Louisville. The location... More

We booked our room several months ahead of time and specifically asked if there was somewhere off street where we could park our Harleys and were told it would be no problem. When we arrived we were told 'there's plenty of room on the street' and that was that. After that the innkeeper was no where to be seen til the... More

We had a very enjoyable stay at this fabulous B&B. Such a grand historic mansion superbly decorated with antiques, period light fixtures and collections tastefully displayed. Our suite was very spacious and provided for all our comforts in grand style. We enjoyed the relaxed family-style breakfasts at 9am and the opportunity to meet the other guests. We paid to tour... My granddaughter and I stayed in this charming B&B and loved every minute. It's beautiful and filled with breath taking antiques. Rudy and Jason made our stay even more enjoyable with their more than helpful advice on places to eat and activities. We love ghost hunting and Jason had books in our room on local haunts and activities for us!!!!
