Interesting and comfortable house with a good location and price. Built in 1897 with 20,000 square feet and eleven original bathrooms. Rudy, the innkeeper, Maggie, the dog, and Jason, all-around assistant extraordinaire, were the perfect hosts. We will stay again. Rudy and Jason helped us decide to dine at La Coop--an excellent restaurant. The personal caring about their guests' overall... More

Staying at the Samuel Culbertson Mansion provides a glimpse of another era...one replete with opulence, charm, and character. The mansion is full of antiques that rival many museums. It was a joy to wander and look at all the artwork. The rooms were gorgeous! One can easily imagine the easy way of life of the late 1800's though with the... More

Southern charm for one week straight--it doesn't get any better than this in Louisville. A magnificently restored mansion with dozens of authentically decorated rooms and period furnishings, along with a delightful and knowledgeable host (Rudy), his sociable pup (Maggie), and an energetic and accomplished young assistant (Jason)--what more could one ask for? Veranda? Check. Gardens? Check. Walking distance to Louisville's... More

A friend and I stayed here while we were in town for the Forecastle festival; all the hotels near the park were either booked or outrageously expensive. So I turned my search to bed and breakfasts, and found a room in the Culbertson Mansion that had two beds. The General Lawton suite was a great alternative to a hotel, and... More

The mansion itself is lovely...one can still imagine it in it's heyday. The street on which it's located was once called Millionaire's Row or something similar. Easy to understand after seeing it. Our room was the President's Room located on the east front, second floor, overlooking the driveway. LARGE room. The bathroom lavatory faucet and handles were swans! Probably original... More

The Culberston Mansion is a must when visiting Lousiville. We rented two rooms for the night and each had their own individual charm. The staff was extremely hospitable and greeting. They also let us explore the other rooms that were not occupied. Breakfast was amazing. I plan on staying there again if I ever return to Louisville.

The Culbertson Mansion was filled with antique charm! Our room was very comfortable, and our hosts made us feel welcome. Breakfast was delicious. We especially enjoyed Rudy's special bourbon sauce on our sweetened fruit. We had a wonderful stay in lovely Historic Louisville.

From the greeting (thanks, Jason!) and warm welcome (thanks Maggie and Rudy!) to the delicious breakfast the morning after, our stay at the Samuel Culberston Mansion was fantastic! We stayed in the President's Suite, and it was so romantic. The Victorian style was adorable, and the fact that the owner and main attendant were so attentive and friendly made our... More

Gorgeous is an understatement when describing the amazing décor of this historic home. Antiques cover every inch of every room, and the lighting treatments are the showpieces. However, all this beauty is eclipsed by the warmth and hospitality we felt every minute of our stay. We are looking forward to our next trip. Did I forget to mention the BOURBON... More
