The B&B is well kept and very representative of the period - almost to the point of having too many crowded collections. I am accustomed to a little more interaction from the host but was sadly left wanting in this case. The room was large and comfortable, meeting our needs..

Samuel Culbertson Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful place. The owner is great. We had a wonderful stay, the only problem we encountered was the air conditioning. We stayed on the third floor and it was hot the whole night and never cooled down.

Beautiful Mansion with so much history. We felt like royalty staying in the President's Room which was once the master bedroom. Three floors of exquisite antiques, were ours to enjoy. Every room had a uniquely styled fireplace. Rudy, the owner, and Jason, his assistant, were always available to answer our questions about the history of the home and are very... More

This is the place to stay if you're interested in a little history and a lot of character. The building is impressive, and the staff is kind and accommodating. If you get a chance, I highly encourage a chat with the proprietor, Rudy. He knows everything there is to know about the city and the neighborhood. If you're looking for... More

The Samuel Culbertson Mansion B&B is a lovingly-recreated Victorian mansion, filled to the brim with antique furniture, artwork, and other tchotchkes, making you feel like you're guests of some turn-of-the-century Louisville magnate. Guests are free to wander the house, and stick their heads into any unoccupied rooms. My wife and I stayed in the President's Room, a spacious corner room... More

Wakened out of a sound sleep, I thought there'd been an earthquake. Then, perhaps, that there had been a gas pipe explosion. FInally, realized that jets were taking off overhead. Between 3:30 and 5am they were spaced just a few minutes apart. The weather plays a part in the flight path, so you might be lucky and have a quiet... More

This is a gorgeous mansion that is more like a Victorian museum than a typical B&B. The owner, Rudy, and Jason are great hosts and let you roam around the 20,000 square foot mansion but are there whenever you need something. The mansion is full of antiques and lovingly cared for and clean. The towels and sheets were great and... More

Friend and I were making a trip to Louisville to run in the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon. Most places were pretty booked. We decided to try a bed & breakfast (my first time staying at one) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in the General Lawton Suite and enjoyed spacious room & central location. Everything seemed a few minutes drive... More

The mansion is unbelievably gorgeous, filled with antiques and beauty that recalls the glamour and style of the glory days of the South. All rooms were immaculate with all of the creature comforts one expects in superior establishments. Breakfast is served in the glorious Dining Room, complete with antique mahogany table under an exquisite chandelier. The Ladies' Drawing Room, Music... More

We didn't know what we were getting into because it was the first time to stay at a B&B. Well let me tell you, it was great. Every where we looked there was beauty from a time gone by. It's good to know someone is hanging on to things of yesterday. You would have thought we were "big shots" with... More
