After out-of-town plans fell through we decided to try a night at local favorite Gratz Park Inn to celebrate our Anniversary. We booked the room only a few hours before we planned on arriving, and it was no problem. We were told we were given a discount rate, although it was still $170, taxes and all, for a smallish room... We were treated to a stay at the Gratz Park Inn with two of our favorite people. They reserved the Governor's Suite for us and it was lovely and spacious. While I agree with others that the property is dated, it is still quite lovely. Our main reason for staying there was to enjoy dinner at Jonathan's where we dined... More

The outside was beautiful and so was the lobby area. The rooms were nice too with Temperpedic beds that were so tall you needed steps to climb into them. There were nice robes in the closet for your use and we used and liked the fitness center (though it was in dire need of of a fan to cool the... More

We visited during a busy time so the price was on the high side. However, our small room was very comfortable and the hotel attractive. We really liked Jonathan's Bar in the hotel; quaintly elegant and a great way to get introduced to the various nuances and qualities of Bourbon Whiskey; the bartender will do a sampling for you. Makes... More

This was a very disappointing stop on our recent drive across America. Kentucky and Lexington were every bit as lovely as we'd expected but the Gratz Park was a dark, dreary, jaded disappointment. Communal rooms were reasonably maintained - but not the dreadful breakfast room in the basement [keep well away!]. Our bedroom had two very large beds that took... More

Our daughter was recently married in Lexington and our family stayed at Gratz Park Inn. The staff went out of their way to welcome us. We had 7 rooms and they were all different and beautifully decorated. The lobby area is lovely and and was a gorgeous backdrop for pictures. I can't say enough about their staff and their helpful... My husband and I stopped here for a night while on the bourbon trail. We saw it advertised as a bed and breakfast. They do not include breakfast at all. There is a restaurant downstairs, Jonathan's, which we were told by locals has a fantastic Sunday lunch, though we did not stay for it. The hotel itself is in a... More

Stayed here for one night on business. The hotel is an old building, probably built in the 1800's or so. It has a charming feel, not to be confused with quaint (with a B&B) or rustic (like a cabin). I believe I booked one of the last rooms available for the evening and was given a suite. Despite the age... More

First room had an air conditioner that sounded like a freight train was coming through the room. They moved us to another room where the air conditioner did nothing but blow hot air. 8pm the next day 82 degrees and rising. Friendly staff but their hands were tied.

Excellent location in a quiet historic neighborhood near city center, good food and drink nearby or in house. My 3 night stay for business at UK was comfy and relaxing; very friendly service, spacious and quiet room. I'd stay there again if I'm ever in Lexington again.
