We've stayed here about 8 previous times. The Shaker Village is quite beautiful and can be a lot of fun for a peaceful getaway. We stayed the night August 7th and 8th. They were having a beer festival that Saturday. There was a much different crowd there than our past visits. We were staying in the East Family Dwelling. Our... More

I've stayed here before, yet as always, this was wonderful! This time I had the opportunity to explore the Shaker Village instead of just stop in for the night. The facilities are amazing in their simplicity. The staff are extraordinarily knowledgeable. The food at the Trustee's Office was magnificent, and there was plenty of it. The bed was so comfortable,... More

Had a weekend getaway at the Shaker Village. Great quiet getaway, with beautiful surroundings, interesting people, great food, and all surrounded by interesting history of the Shaker community. Hiked to the Shaker landing on the Kentucky River, wandered the buildings of the village, spoke with interesting interpreters of the history of Pleasant Hill. All of this, a great dinner at... More

I had a memorable experience staying at the Shaker Village. We were given a room in one of the original Shaker homes in the village and it was a charming room complete with modern conveniences cleverly added so as not to harm the original building. We were given free complimentary tickets to tour the whole village, so that made the... More

I really enjoyed staying here. I was able to take my dog with me and we spent a nice evening here. It was like stepping back in time but with modern pluming and air conditioning. The mattress was very comfortable. Dining there is a bit pricey but it's worth it to be able to eat there. Because I had the... More

Our room was spacious, clean, well-kept, with our own Keurig coffee machine. Our bed was pretty comfortable. Shaker Village has lots of kid-friendly activities around, we saw the barns with horses, pigs and chickens, one building has a play area designed for young kids. Its not anything major but our 2-year-old was just smitten with it. My only real issue... More

My husband and I made a reservation Thursday day before a Saturday night stay and only had the option of 1 room as it was completely booked. It was room in the west lot dwelling with double beds. The downside of the west lot is that it isn't within walking distance to the town square/restaurant and they don't have bicycles.... More

You can spend a whole day (and night) at Shaker Village. They even had a haunted cemetery tour. I went with my wife and 1yr old and we took in the actors, music and "shows". A lot of interesting history as well. We stayed for the haunted cemetery tour but unfortunately could not get a room for the night as... More

Great for kids 8, 6 and 4 and grandmother. It's a beautiful place with trees and well maintained historical buildings. It's pedestrian friendly once you park, so it was great to let my kids just walk, especially my 4 year old. We stayed with the kids the whole time but there was no fear of them being lost in a... This is a special place! When the park closes at 5PM, it's your own quiet little village...cows in the pasture, geese on the pond, horses in the fields, fireflies hovering over the grass and a whole lot of peace. If you stay, don't miss a visit to the farm where much of what the restaurant serves is grown. Pet Abraham;... More
