My husband and I made a reservation Thursday day before a Saturday night stay and only had the option of 1 room as it was completely booked. It was room in the west lot dwelling with double beds. The downside of the west lot is that it isn't within walking distance to the town square/restaurant and they don't have bicycles.... More

You can spend a whole day (and night) at Shaker Village. They even had a haunted cemetery tour. I went with my wife and 1yr old and we took in the actors, music and "shows". A lot of interesting history as well. We stayed for the haunted cemetery tour but unfortunately could not get a room for the night as... More

Great for kids 8, 6 and 4 and grandmother. It's a beautiful place with trees and well maintained historical buildings. It's pedestrian friendly once you park, so it was great to let my kids just walk, especially my 4 year old. We stayed with the kids the whole time but there was no fear of them being lost in a... This is a special place! When the park closes at 5PM, it's your own quiet little village...cows in the pasture, geese on the pond, horses in the fields, fireflies hovering over the grass and a whole lot of peace. If you stay, don't miss a visit to the farm where much of what the restaurant serves is grown. Pet Abraham;... More

My visit was with 50+ other gardeners and we spent an hour with the head gardener in the vegetable garden. I learned so much from a very passionate young man who is following his dream of creating a sustainable food supply that doesn't harm the earth. I would highly recommend this location. We also had lunch in the trustee's room... More

I have visited this gem annually since I was a child. The Shaker architecture is beautiful and the furnishings classic and splendid in their quality. A visit there isn't complete without dining in the restaurant and enjoying the homemade food including mouth-watering mini cornbread sticks with real butter. My favorite time to visit is in the fall when the trees... More

From the moment we walked through the door, it was a wonderful experience. The room was well appointed--keep in mind that it was decorated in Shaker fashion--the bed was comfortable and the staff was outstanding. We were on the second floor of the Trustee building. Since the dining room was directly below us, it got a little noisy late in... More

We visited on a misty day in May. The farm was bustling. We wandered the soggy fields and visited with the staff. Perhaps the weather set the mood, but we felt as if we had time traveled back a century or more. The shops were great, full of trinkets and such. The kitchen was a very pleasant surprise. A very... We were passing through and going to stop at Shaker Village so we figured we may as well stay over night there. In the photos look stark just one would expect of Shaker decor so we had trepidations about staying there. We stayed in the west family house, and our room was really nice. The beds are extremely comfortable and... More

If you long for some beautiful Kentucky scenery, take a trip to Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. The grounds are immaculate and serenity abounds among the foliage and white picket fences. If the artist in you is thirsty for inspiration, you will be quenched. We spent one evening at the inn and enjoyed it immensely.
