This is a tradition for my friends and myself. The tea that Shaker Village offers is very nice. The traditional tea they serve is call Christmas in a Cup. It is a wonderful tea and actually does taste like Christmas memories. The tea sandwiches and desserts were very good. Their scones were great, one thing I would love to see... More

Last year in March I was fortunate to be hosted by the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill KY for an exhibition of my artwork. My wife and I stayed overnight after the opening reception/artist talk. We stayed upstairs in the East Family Brethren's Shop, close to the Centre Family Dwelling where the exhibit was held. The staff is always friendly,... More

My wife and I recently spent the night and day at shaker village. We stayed in a very nice room with loads of atmosphere in one of the historic buildings. Our room was very large and well appointed. The linens are very high end. We were very happy with our accomadations. My only complaint was the lack of decaf coffee... More

We loved our weekend stay here! We stayed in the Old Stone Shop (built in 1811) and really enjoyed the charm and quaintness of our room. The furniture is all exact reproduction Shaker style. Of course, in a discrete manner they have added 'modern' conveniences. Our room had a nice TV, coffee maker, clock, blow dryer and that sort of... More

Lovely original residences to stay in. Superb countryside to stroll thru. Woodworking exhibit about barrel making excellent. Found staff to be a little corporate and hard to engage in conversation. Heard about concern that traditional craft programming was being further reduced in favour of more 'modern' activities like yoga and paddle boarding.

We were really looking forward to our stay at Shaker Village. We arrived on quiet Monday so nothing was going on...it was quite hard to find our "Old Ministry's Shop" in the dark but once we found it we had no issues. It was simply furnished and we loved that they provided firewood & starter for the fireplace. It was... More

We decided to stay at Shaker Village after buying a Groupon for two nights, and we found it to be a peaceful and interesting place. Arriving after dark, it was a bit difficult to find our room in the East Family Dwelling after picking up our keys at the check in at a different building, but the atmosphere was quiet... More

I happened upon this place when reading reviews on TripAdvisor and my friends and I decided to try it out. It was awesome. We stayed in the West Family Dwelling which is a 3-story 200 year old building. We had a 2 BR suite. The Shaker traditions are very simple and the rooms reflect this tradition when it comes to... There is a lot to see and the property is pretty large. I would give yourself a couple hours on a nice day and go for a stroll. There is a small café and gift shop for food and drinks. I would recommend only going with small kids (e.g. a stroller) if you have off road wheels as the whole... More

This was our second overnight stay at Shaker Village. What a wonderful, peaceful place to stay! After the village closes, you can walk around in the beautiful park like setting in the quiet. It is truly a place to recharge and relax. Admission to the sights is included in your stay along with discounts in the shops.
