Our family stopped at the Shaker Village not really knowing what to expect. It was quite beautiful with many original buildings and several staff members exhibiting various Shaker handiwork. We saw rugs and brooms being made, very interesting. A video, which is nice to see at the beginning of your visit, helps to enrich your self guided tour. There are... More

This village is lovely and idyllic. My room was at the top of the stairs so I left my case in the car. It's bare bones but utterly charming. There were two single wooden beds. The bathroom was fine, the towels lovely and the toiletries fabulous. There was a TV but with very limited channels. But I suggest you switch... More

We stayed here over Valentines weekend, lots of history, When reservation was made they told me I needed to make additional reservations for dinner and breakfast if needed so I did, upon arrival we had no food reservations but they called the kitchen and was finally able to add us on? there were empty tables all around when we arrived... I visited during the holidays and really enjoyed it. The village was decorated very tastefully and I liked getting to experience Christmas in a peaceful, non-commercial way. What a nice change of pace. The food was very good and the service from our waitress was excellent. The horse-driven carriage ride helped add to the feeling of an old-fashioned Christmas,

This was a wonderful trip for us, and staying at the Inn was the highlight! The tranquility, serenity and simple way of life were an absolute pleasure. The food at dinner and breakfast was healthy, wholesome and delicious. Not too pricey either. The rooms were simple, yet very comfortable. We loved being able to calmly and quietly walk around and... I used to be a member at Shakertown when I lived in nearby Lexington in the 1980s and have been back many times since. This last week's visit was excellent so do not get me wrong, but that said, it seems, to quote one of my partners that Shakertown is becoming a bit more "corporate" and the staff seems to... More

We have been traveling to Lexington and Shaker Village for the last 26 Falls! We have always loved staying at Shaker Village. We come in October for a long weekend of enjoying the horse races. Our routine is to explore Shaker Village in the morning, visit all of the wonderful animals on the farm, eat breakfast at the main house... More

I have been to Shaker town several times - once on my honeymoon - and I have never been anywhere so idyllic and tranquil. The grounds are beautiful, the docents are knowledgeable, the food is wonderful and the rooms are spare but comfortable - as they should be. If you are a history buff - or just want a few... More

Four of us (two couples) stayed one night here mid week in October. We purposely picked this time because there would be no major event going on and we could enjoy the peacefulness of the Village. Our rooms were in the first floor in the West Family Dwelling, which was a good choice because there are no elevators to the... More

A wonderful haven in the country! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. We stayed in a room one night and it was very modest but very comfortable. We ate dinner at the restaurant on the premises and the food was plentiful and served family style at your individual table. Also, they do serve alcoholic beverages on site. The only... More
