Wonderfully kept and functional historic buildings in a spacious and serene setting. A window on a unique 19th century life style. The wandering animals warmed the heart of this old farm boy. Many crafts to observe. Looking forward to bringing the grandkids.

Stayed in the East Family Washhouse. It was a suite with every comfort. Games to play. It was a step back in time! I would highly suggest making this a stop on your next trip through Kentucky. We ate dinner in town but breakfast on site was superb.

We stayed over night with our kids (age 10, 7, 4 and 2) and loved every minute of the experience. Our suite was beautiful and roomy. The kids loved all the hands on activities and meeting the new born animals. The kids said several time during the visit that they hope we can come back some day! The staff was... More

When I asked my teenager where to go for a quick get-a-way, she wanted to go to Pleasant Hill (we have visited before). Relaxing atmosphere, families eating picnics on the lawn, board games (wi-fi is very limited), trails to hike - all with staying in historic buildings. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

I enjoyed the day here and have been several times but I have seen it change. It is losing some of the unique draw due to demands from the public. I enjoy the food there although I do think it is a bit pricey. Take a step back in time here while you still can.

Stopped off on our way home through Kentucky. Spent a lovely night in the inn. We had a room in one of the old buildings. Rooms are sparse in the Shaker style but well equipped. Beds were comfy. Each room has its own nice bathroom with the usual amenities. Rooms have coffee makers. Ate a really tasty meal at the... More

Room was great, service was great, food just okay. We watched a singing and Shacker education performance in the Meeting House and it was wonderful the lady who performed was great used to be a teacher and it showed.😄

This is a bit of a step back in time. We LOVED every minute of or stay with them. Our room was very humbly & sparsely furnish with exactly what you needed. The beds were very comfortable. Only a few channels on TV. Rooms are NOT equipped with wi-fi. It just would ruin the ambience. There are a few places... More

Upon moving south to Kentucky, we took our family for a historic day out to Shakers Village. I highly recommend this location for a family outing with lots of living examples in the meeting house, gardens, gift shop, ..etc. we did not spend the night so I can not speak to the accommodations. We took a boat trip down the... More

We have visited and lodged at Shaker Village for many years now......the pleasant in Pleasant Hill is correct.......if you are expecting to be pampered and on your wi fi and cells 24/7.....don't visit here.....and don't request this place to adapt....you have missed the whole point of visiting a Shaker Village if you are expecting plush accommodations and spas and hot...
