My husband and I stayed for two nights in late August after school was back in session. It felt like there weren't many people there, which added to the relaxing atmosphere. We were in a two double bed room on the third floor with a cathedral ceiling. The room had a balcony overlooking the woods and lake with a partial... More

Stayed 2 nights while visiting a friend in Greenup. The lodge and rooms are clean but a bit dated. We didn't mind because outside the front door are beautiful trails to hike and deer so friendly they walk up to your car to say hello. The staff were more than accommodating. Being of an age where I count cholesterol like... More

Stayed 3 nights.. Rooms clean, staff extremely warm and helpful, restaurant was OMG!!!! Best food I've had at a restaurant in years.... You have to try to believe... Catfish, homemade cole slaw, green beans like gramma made... Pools were clean and fun, pontoon rental excellent and fish were biting.. Overall best stay for reasonable prices. I will be returning!!! The lodge is such a beautiful place but it is really run down now! The service is very poor and the entire place needs updated. Restaurant has issues and rooms as well. Unfriendly employees and not professional. My friends and fam had went there in the past years but not for approx. 4 yrs. ago and it was very nice... More

Lodge is showing its age. Rooms are adequate and clean. Rocking chairs on the porch and so relaxing. Go for the pool and lake or the great hikes in the park. When I was there the restaurant was understaffed the first night and it took over 1 1/2 hours to get out food. The one waitress for the whole dining... More

Beautiful area but Park has not been renovated in a long time. Much need of repair. Carpet shabby, community room dirty, tables and chairs falling apart. Must enter restrooms outside from community room. So sad that state does not invest in their beautiful parks.

Like most state park resorts, the facility is a little dated, but it is quite well-maintained. Our room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The room had its own patio that overlooked the lake (although the trees obscure the lake view, they're beautiful in themselves!) The restaurant was quite surprising: the staff seemed extremely young and a little... More

I have been going to this place for years. It is away from traffic. The place is just quiet and the views are great. Still plenty to do and you do not have to leave the lodge. They have a place to in the lodge that always has good food. If you are looking to get away this is great place... More

The Refuge is nice. Items are being placed for divers and fish. Parking is not the best (drop off your gear and park at the lodge), but the water quality and fish life make up for that. They don't have a dive shop or air fills yet, but they are working on that and handicap access for divers.

We spent the Labor Day weekend at Greenbo and had a wonderful time. The lodge rooms themselves are basic hotel rooms. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. Each room also has a little deck on the back with chairs. The kids really enjoyed the pools. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina and cruised around the... More
