First off, I can't fault the food. It's was nice and not too fancy like some places can get. It was good food cooked well. The downside was the service. When we first entered we asked for a table for two and were told that the restaurant was full. Only half the tables were in use but I assumed the... More

My partner and I spent valentines night here in room 10 and again the following night. We had valentines dinner in the bar so we were able to have a drink... Also everywhere in Shrewsbury seemed to be completely booked! The room itself was lovely, however, I struggled with the five sets of stairs to get to it. It was... More

Cold dinning room with no atmosphere. Very average pub food and poor organisation.Staff did their best over mix up with the order but not a good idea to offer to "keep my meal warm" whilst waiting for the other meal! Such a let down.

The location is perfect - a few minutes from the main A5 near Shrewsbury, but quiet, and lovely views across the river. The topfloor room was spacious and characterful, with lovely facilities and a most comfortable bed and soft duvet. All in all, good service and excellent value.

We stayed two nights in November whilst visiting friends. The staff were freindly on the phone when I booked the room. There was limited availability so we had a family room at the front of the pub/hotel. The room was very large with a good bathroom and well decorated. The bed was hug, much larger than our king sized bed... More

Clean well furnished room not huge and up in the eaves so no view unfortunately. Comfy bed large TV and good shower. Staff showed me to my room and there are lots of stairs so be warned but not steep . I ate dinner and breakfast there and found both to be delicious if not a bit pricey .. In... More

The photos didn't do the family room justice! Room was really large and The beds were very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly at the bar The breakfast was very good Only thing we would complain about the sausages (too course more dinner than breakfast!) and black pudding too hard
