A lovely family run guesthouse which was great value for money. Gai Lee was a great host and gave us lots of helpful info on where to eat and the wineries. A little bit away from centre of polkolbin but plenty of wineries on route and perfect if you want to be away from the crowds as we did. Would... More

I stayed on a weeknight at The Table, it was amazing value for a lovely comfortable B&B. On a winter night it was warm and welcoming with really nice touches like a little bit of their own Port in the room. Cooked breakfast was included. Great location for Hunter wine district.

We stayed at The Table for the Bruce Springsteen concert at Hope Estate. Jude suggested we catch the bus from Greta - excellent idea! We stayed in The Giraffe room which was very comfortable, nice to be able to sleep with the windows open. Jude whipped up a lovely big brekkie for 10 guests. The Table has a lovely friendly... More

We stayed there for 3 days with my wife. We chose Zebra room on the 1st floor, which was nice and spacious. The guesthouse overall is tidy and well decorated in African theme. Hosts are very welcoming. Breakfast is good traditional "big breakfast". They also produce their own port which I highly recommend (we bought a few bottles for ourselves... More

First experience of a B&B and the bar is set very high thanks to Jude's warm hospitality and the incredible African-themed decor (check out the indoor dining room, everything in there is amazing). Jude cooked us a lovely breakie both mornings, and prepared an intensely comprehensive cheese platter, which was delicious. Outdoor dining area is beautiful, as is Charlie the... More

Lovely African themed B&B with a charming host - Jude. Extremely clean and comfortable with a fabulous and enviable collection of African artifacts decorating each room as well as the dining area. The breakfast was fantastic! Delicious breakfasts and delicious homemade jams (my favorite is the marmalade) well worth taking home. We are 8 friends that took over the whole... More

Don't be put off by Greta as a location, although not in the midst of everything the B&B was only a 15min drive to the nearest vineyard (if that). We were treated to a fantastic breakfast menu of both contentintal & cooked, & even homemade jams which were delicious & available to purchase if you wished to. The hospitality we... More

Wasn't quite sure what to expect from a safari themed Hotel in the Hunter, but all the reviews were raving, and they were right. Our room was tastefully decorated and clean, our host Jude greeted us on arrival and was lovely and helpful, and made us the most amazing breakfast in the morning, which was served to us in the... What a wonderful place to spend time with a group of friends to celebrate a special occasion as we did this weekend or a quiet escape with a loved one. The bedrooms were lovely, great showers in the bathroom, . Breakfast was scrumptiously cooked by our host Jude and dinner on Saturday night was 5 star. Were delighted when our... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Table Guest house is situated in the historical village of Greta 5 minutes to Lovedale and 10 minutes to Pokolbin, 5 minutes to Wyndham winery the oldest winery in the Hunter Valley. Friendly casual ambiance, African themed en-suite queen rooms dinner available upon request (minimum 24 hours notice required). Fantastic breakfasts. Walk to pubs or club. In the most unlikely location, Greta, a small village which used to be the site of a detention camp for postwar migrants, yet central to the wine-making region of the Hunter Valley, is The Table B&B. This place is marvelous, and I don't know why I'm telling you about it. Crisp linen, spacious private rooms, and excellent food. A package where you can stay for two night, have two evening meals and two substantial breakfasts for $500 also makes The Table good value. But you can only get there by car. ... more   less
