Fellow travelers, we are the proud owners of this former B&B. It is now our private residence. It is a beautiful home. We are restoring parts of the main house and plan a renovation of the carriage house. If you are planning a visit to Covington, KY we encourage you to enjoy our wonderful city!

The Amos Shinkle Townhouse B&B was an unexpected stop on our trip. We were car camping and decided to get off the rainy road. Looking up Covington B&B's, the Amos Shinkle house popped up first. Since we had just been on that street and liked the location, we called. The host, Bernie, was gracious and said there was one room... More

Greeted by a man in dirty clothes who gave us a key and pointed to our room. Never welcomed us or told us who he was. Never asked us if we needed anything. The room was okay. The kitchen was dirty. The breakfast took more than an hour and was not good Service was bad - never got half &... More

After reading the previous reviews, I made a reservation at this B and B. We were not impressed. I am not sure who greeted us when we arrived, but he was a nice man, he didn't show us our room, just gave us a key. We stayed in the Carriage House, in a downstairs room. It was freezing, we had... My husband and I spent one night at Amos Shinkle. Our room was in the carriage house. It was quiet; the bed and bath rooms were comfortably cool and clean. There was cable TV, as well as a nice reading chair. Breakfast was awesome - made to order. You have to try Bernie's goetta! Bernie and Anthony were wonderful hosts... More

My mother, daughter, and I stayed at the Amos Shinkle Townhouse for two nights this summer. It has a great location in a nice neighborhood--you can walk to Cincinnati (the Underground Railroad Museum is just over the bridge, a fifteen minute walk; the Reds stadium is very close by also) or drive a mile to Newport for the Aquarium, movies,... We spent a long weekend at the Amos Shinkle Townhouse and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our room in the carriage house was comfortable and quiet and the breakfasts were fabulous.

The Amos-Shinkle House reminds me of staying at my grandma's. The antiques are old and kinda rickety, the wallpaper just a little peely, the afgahns comfortable. We stayed in the adjacent carriage house for one night in February. It was 8 degrees out and our room had a pretty big draft. BUT, our very, very clean and comfortable room had... More
