We were here with another couple for a gathering. We got a two room cabin. The cabin had a kitchenette in it with a stove, microwave & refrigerator. Bedding & towels were furnished. I was told the they had fully equipped kitchens, but brought my own pans anyway. I was glad I did. I would not call two pans fully... More

We booked a room here after everything else in the area was packed. I made a mistake and booked the wrong date..... not a problem for the staff the quickly got us in and were exceptionally polite about my screw up. The rooms were nice, pets were allowed, the pool looked very inviting but we didn't take the time to... More

On the first Friday of the new year my husband and I wanted a quick, quiet evening away, General Butler State Park was perfect. The rooms are simple and clean. Our room was a king with a generous sized private deck overlooking the wooded hill top. The bedroom flooring was wood laminate, a bit cool on the bare feet, but... More

This was my first stay at a Kentucky State Park Resort facility. This one is very nice. The staff is very friendly. Rooms are nice. Onsite restaurant was good. Conference and cottage facilities are very nice. This resort is a great alternative to traditional hotel lodging.

My husband and I got a cabin Thanksgiving 2013. When we went to eat, I told the desk clerk that there wasn't any heat. The unit outside of our cabin looked like a giant ice cube and was completely froze over. It took hours to get to eat and when we got back to our cabin the unit was still... More

We met our son and his family at the Lodge to celebrate his birthday. #1 We both brought our dogs and had adjoining "dog friendly" rooms and they were just fine - attractive, very clean and with balconies overlooking the woods.(It'a true, though, that with our adjoining door closed, we were very aware when one of the kids cried. They... More

We went to this park for a short getaway. The rooms have recently been redone and are beautiful and clean. The lodge itself is an attraction and has a nice restaurant. The lodge has recently added a bar area. Don't forget your golf clubs. The course is right in front of the hotel. It was rainy and we enjoyed our... More

We've camped at General Butler many times over the years but stopped going about 8 to 10 years ago because of the condition the park was in. Family from Indiana wanted to go camping and I suggested General Butler because it was close and we only had 3 days to visit. I try not to write bad reviews and try... More

A nice place with lots to do. The pool is great The lodge room was nice. And a snow cone and train ride is a must, but please do yourself a favor, stay away from the restaurant, in needs to be resuscitated

We camped 2 nites in late July. We arrived & being a Monday the campground was pretty empty. We had reserved our spots online & we needed pull through spots with 2 together for our friends. The parking is level but there is a big step & the ground surrounding us was not level. We had to go to the... More
