This past week my wife, my dog and I visited General Butler State Park over Valentines day. We rented a cabin and stayed several days. The cabin was in generally good condition and completely furnished. The park itself while relatively small, is very scenic and quite nice. There is a small lake with non-motorized powered boats available for rent. In... More

Watch for deer when coming and going. I was in building 1 which doesn't seem renovated as building 2. Wood paneling like log cabin. Wall paper was peeling in spots. No hot water for shower in my room.

We are snowbirds driving south to escape the weather. We wanted a place to stay south of Cincinnati and I came across this State Park in Kentucky. What a great choice. We had a cozy room in the lodge . It was clean and quiet with welcoming staff. The room was a nice size and the lodge had a very... More

We were here with another couple for a gathering. We got a two room cabin. The cabin had a kitchenette in it with a stove, microwave & refrigerator. Bedding & towels were furnished. I was told the they had fully equipped kitchens, but brought my own pans anyway. I was glad I did. I would not call two pans fully... More

We booked a room here after everything else in the area was packed. I made a mistake and booked the wrong date..... not a problem for the staff the quickly got us in and were exceptionally polite about my screw up. The rooms were nice, pets were allowed, the pool looked very inviting but we didn't take the time to... More

On the first Friday of the new year my husband and I wanted a quick, quiet evening away, General Butler State Park was perfect. The rooms are simple and clean. Our room was a king with a generous sized private deck overlooking the wooded hill top. The bedroom flooring was wood laminate, a bit cool on the bare feet, but... More

This was my first stay at a Kentucky State Park Resort facility. This one is very nice. The staff is very friendly. Rooms are nice. Onsite restaurant was good. Conference and cottage facilities are very nice. This resort is a great alternative to traditional hotel lodging.

My husband and I got a cabin Thanksgiving 2013. When we went to eat, I told the desk clerk that there wasn't any heat. The unit outside of our cabin looked like a giant ice cube and was completely froze over. It took hours to get to eat and when we got back to our cabin the unit was still... More

We met our son and his family at the Lodge to celebrate his birthday. #1 We both brought our dogs and had adjoining "dog friendly" rooms and they were just fine - attractive, very clean and with balconies overlooking the woods.(It'a true, though, that with our adjoining door closed, we were very aware when one of the kids cried. They... More

We went to this park for a short getaway. The rooms have recently been redone and are beautiful and clean. The lodge itself is an attraction and has a nice restaurant. The lodge has recently added a bar area. Don't forget your golf clubs. The course is right in front of the hotel. It was rainy and we enjoyed our... More
