This hotel is on the registry of historic sites. Our room was at the end of the hall on the third floor. It was quiet, but we could not get the air to shut off. We turned it up as far as we could, everything turned out okay. Towel warmer was a nice touch. The room was larger than I... More

Once we understood the mission of this college town, we couldn't help being impressed and shake our heads as to why other liberal arts institutions haven't embraced elements of this model. All the students besides receiving a degree they learn life skills to prepare them for the work force. So many of our institutions charge exorbitant tuitions and the students... More

I've been to Boone Tavern many times, but most recently in March 2015. Everything about my experience was lovely. The rooms are furnished with handmade furniture from the students at Berea College, just across the street. In fact, Berea College is free to all who attend and one of the ways the students give back is by working at the... More

We drove from east Tennessee to South Bend and spent one night at this fantastic hotel in Berea Kentucky. We did also eat the very nice food at their restaurant and after that had an evening long drink at their outdoor porch. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

My wife and I like to stay in historic hotels and this one is at the top of our list! All the rooms have been modernized but the overall experience is nostalgic! The service was exceptional and we were treated like guests in a home! The hotel is associated with Berea College and employs their students who are very gracious... More

The lodging at Boone Tavern Hotel is first class. The hotel is owned by Berea College and employs some students in various jobs. However the highlight of our trip was spent with Mr. Fred on the back veranda. Mr. Fred is a joy and an excellent story teller of which most are factual as well as serving as an unofficial... More

My 16 year old daughter plays each Derby Day weekend in a regional tennis tournament on Berea College's campus. This year we decided to just stay in town at Boone's Tavern, and we are so happy we did. It has been a great retreat for us. Accommodations took me back to a simpler day. The decor reminded me so much... More

We stayed here just one night on our drive from St. Louis to our annual vacation in Highlands, NC and it was the perfect half way point. When we arrived and found the main entrance with (thankfully) a huge portico to pull under, we were greeted by a delightful young man who took our bags but said he was not... More

We stayed at this historic hotel last night and words cannot describe who pleased we were with it. This is part of the Berea College complex - some of the students work there. Although it was built in 1909, it has been well kept and updated and uses a 'green' policy. Although our room was not large, the king bed... More

The Historic Boone Tavern and hotel is exquisite and splendidly "green" and accommodating. We stayed at the hotel fifteen years ago, and it was lovely; but there was much to be desired, and the make-over has been wonderful. The bathrooms are handicapped equipped in ways that we have not seen elsewhere, and they are huge. The lobby and dining room are... More
