We stayed at this historic hotel last night and words cannot describe who pleased we were with it. This is part of the Berea College complex - some of the students work there. Although it was built in 1909, it has been well kept and updated and uses a 'green' policy. Although our room was not large, the king bed... More

The Historic Boone Tavern and hotel is exquisite and splendidly "green" and accommodating. We stayed at the hotel fifteen years ago, and it was lovely; but there was much to be desired, and the make-over has been wonderful. The bathrooms are handicapped equipped in ways that we have not seen elsewhere, and they are huge. The lobby and dining room are... More

The hotel is beautiful, well maintained, and "green" as well. Although the room was somewhat small it was very clean. The hotel staff were especially helpful and courteous. We frequently travel from Wisconsin to North Carolina. Since we have discovered this charming hotel, my wife and I will always stay at the Boone Tavern.

If you like historic hotels, be sure to stay here! Our room was small but elegant and a delightful change from modern motels! Loved that it was "green" also! Berea itself is worth a visit also and you can tour the whole downtown on foot from your hotel room!

Thank you for you review. We wanted to let you know that you can also take a "student led" tour of the college. It is a great tour and a great way to get to know the history of Berea College. More

The hotel looks beautiful and will be a nice compliment to our trip. Are gay couples welcome at your hotel ? It may sound silly to ask in 2015, but I'd rather be certain where I spend our dollars. Thank you.

Always wanted to stay here and just spent 2 nights. I was not disappointed. It is a very beautiful old hotel, very classy. The price was good. We had breakfast in the dining room, very good. We did not have dinner there. The staff (a lot of them students) were very good. I would highly recommend this hitel

The accommodations and staff at the historic Boone Tavern Hotel couldn't have been nicer! I did not eat in the dining room, but others on our trip raved about the food (just a bit pricey). Boone Tavern is the only restaurant in the area allowed to serve wine, so their dining room has become more popular, you may need a... More

That is great! It looks like you explored our little town and even ate on campus. Next time you are in town your should take a "student led tour" of the campus. They give a great history of the college and even Boone Tavern. Hope all you come back and see us soon! More

We spent one night at this hotel. It is associated with Berea College, and many of the staff were Berea College students. The students were friendly and helpful but a bit short on experience. The cost of the hotel was at the top end of our hotel budget, but less expensive when we visited in March than in the summer... More

I first stayed here for a few nights about 1 1/2 years ago and had a wonderful experience with this hotel, their restaurant and the local area in general. So, when Life left me exhausted physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, I could think of no better place to head to in order to regain my equilibrium and sanity. The service... More

Thank you for your gracious review. We are planning to purchase new bedding soon so look forward to that. We also wanted to mention that the college gives student led tours. They are free of charge and will give you a chance to learn the history of the school and Boone Tavern. We hope to see you again soon! More

The Historic Boone Tavern Hotel and Restaurant of Berea College certainly lives up to its history and reputation. We were on the road, and I was online researching hotels in the area. We’d stayed just off of I-75 before in Berea, and weren’t really happy with the accommodations. I took a chance for a last-minute reservation at the Tavern, and... More
