I bought an overnight trip to this hotel for my husband's birthday. When I purchased it, I imagined an autumn trip down I75, through the colorful hills of Kentucky and maybe, a a Fall picnic on a sunny afternoon. It didn't exactly work out that way! 25 degrees and snow instead. It was too cold to walk around the shops.... More

We loved the Boone Tavern Hotel in Berea KY where we had stayed before. On the plus side, it was as usual very clean and the bed was comfy. We love that they do not use scented laundry products and the hotel has a lot of charm. But...... We stayed in a 3rd floor room with the queen bed and... More

I like historic hotels whose dining rooms have great food, and Boone Tavern has both of these qualifications. My second floor room was light and a window opened easily when I wished "natural" air instead of AC. The bed was very comfortable and furnishings, I'm sure, were made in the college's craft shops. They are classic, very sturdy and will... More

This was a very comfortable, clean, large room. Good location. Parking is tight but a staff person helped us find a place to park. The only problem was the noise from the elevator which was behind our room. We also heard music and singing for a couple hours one night until 10 p.m. In spite of that, I would stay... More

We recently spent a couple of nights here. It is a beautiful, lovingly restored hotel. The lobby, sitting rooms, and dining room are very elegant. We had a king room which was small but nicely decorated.Likewise, the bathroom was small but very pretty. The room was in the back of the hotel, so we had no road noise or street... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We do apologize for the few problems that you did have. Berea College is a tuition free school. The students have labor positions in our hotel and some of the them work in the restaurant. We normally provide excellent service in the hotel restaurant so we are sorry that you did... More

This hotel was quite lovely. It was full of southern charm. The hotel was renovated in 2011, so the rooms and bathrooms are all up to date. The bed was a bit creaky, but it did not bother us. It is a LEED certified hotel which was nice. The area around the hotel is lovely and quiet. We enjoyed our... More

What a lovely review, thank you. We hope you had a chance to talk to some of the students as ask about their Berea experience. Next time you're in town you should take a free student led tour of the College. See you soon! More

Beautiful and charming hotel with restaurant inside. Perfect location to visit surrounding shops, restaurant and the college. I was there for a "Girlriends Weekend." With two different rooms and four different beds we all agreed the beds were pretty bad. One of the women had stayed there a year or two ago and she said they had firm beds on... More

We stayed one night, had dinner and breakfast in the morning. I had to send my dinner back, the center of the lamb was cold. For the price I would recommend going to a different restaurant for dinner. The breakfast was included with the price of our room and was excellent. The room was nice, but I not recommend staying... strange smell in room,so left fan on, couldn't get room cooler than 70 degrees, felt there were little bitty bugs but couldn't see them Nice cheery furniture Noisy street outside window Not sure historic compensates for drawbacks Food in dining room was fine. Service a bit slow.

We stayed here at the last minute and talked with the Front Desk while in car. They had the Presidential Suite available with breakfast included. HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOTH. It is lovely room, historical and the largest marble shower/tub I have seen - EXCELLENT bed and we loved it. Breakfast was great. We had dinner reservations and went - but was... More
