We spent a get away weekend in Bardstown and were lucky enough to stumble into the Old Talbot Tavern. On a stormy night, it was the perfect one stop shop! We had an authentic meal, historic room and great time in the bar. It is loud till early in the morning, so we decided to join in!! When we were... more

We were on a week long motorcycle trip from MI on our way back from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Deal's Gap. We wanted to spend 2 nights in Bardstown to get one full day on the distillery tours. The first night we were in time for a quick bite before the dining closed. The KY Burgoo was amazing! We... more

Were told that this was a very historic place to stay and that it is said to be haunted. Wished that we had seen or heard a ghost because that would have been the highlight of the stay. Tavern is very old dating from 1779 and they have kept the rooms historic with period furniture and few updates. Bathroom was... more

We stayed the night, Its a great place to stay. Very old and historical. There was a loud band on Saturday night. Service was slow in the lounge, but the food was above average. I was very disapointed when I asked to see the room with the Jesse James bulletholes in the wall. I was told it is now off... more

The room was okay. Loud with the band. The dining was awful.. They definitely believe in cheese on their entrees. Won't go there again to eat or to stay...Good history, but please! Don't charge the prices you charge just so you can pay for all the cheese you serve. The steak was also 1/3 fat. and the waitress took too... more

Stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon in late Sept. Neat place, Bardstown has a lot of stuff to do--distilleries, museums, scenery, etc. The downstairs bar was loud, so we joined them. Breakfast was chintzsy. more

We visited the Talbott Tavern a couple years ago for a nice Dinner and was so pleased we decided to bring another couple to show them how nice it was. This time I was very dissatisfied. The hostess was not very freindly, the prices were high for the amount and quality of food we recieved. We were at the Bourban... more

The rooms are a step above a chain (very comfortable bed), but the service was rather abrupt -- not exactly down right rude, but certainly not welcoming either. We gave our name at the front desk and were immediately asked to sign a noise waiver and pay our room rate before we could say another word or were given a... more

Everything about the place was great. A lot of interesting things to see, read, hear and experience at this astablishment. It was very exciting hearing from our waitress about the history of the Old Talbat Tavern and the people who stayed there in the past. We were even able to tour the rooms and other parts of the astablishment. A... more
