I had long wanted to stay at the Old Talbott Tavern; there aren't many places in the U.S. that can claim to be in operation since 1779. I had the Daniel Boone room, which I found to be comfortable, clean, and well appointed with antique furnishings (except for the flat screen TV). The room also had coffee maker and mini-fridge.... Oozing history at every turn, what a great place to stay. Only a handful of rooms so make sure and book your rooms early. Make sure to drop into the bourbon bar, I was told it was the oldest Bourbon Bar in the world.

This place was a step back in time, it was wonderful and educational. The Old Talbot Tavern was very clean, comfortable, and spacious for b&b rooms and even had a little chocolate on each pillow. Our room was above the bourbon bar but we didn't hear any loud noises during late hours; but we were told that on the weekends... More

The talbott Tavern is steeped in history and still offers a cozy place to stay at a reasonable rate w good food. This is their Hot Brown. You will luv the the historic area and close to Jim Beam Distillery.

We stayed just one night and I wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms are minimal but comfortable and clean. If you have never stayed in a tavern inn before, there will be noise and light in your room at night and you are basically on your own after a certain time. If this does not bother you, it... More

We enjoyed out stay at the Old Talbott Tavern immensely! We want to go back so that should tell you how much we enjoyed it. We stayed in the Anton Heinrich room and it was very cozy and charming. The room has a chaise which was fun to lounge on. Now this is FUNNY; there is Stephen Foster sheet music... More

Sitting in the bourbon bar (there is a beer bar on the other side of the property) eating a bourbon flavored Rib Eye steak cooked perfectly with southern green beans and garlicky mashed potatoes slowly sipping a Makers Mark 46 in the middle of Bourbon country is what life is meant to be. Talbotts has it history of famous travelers... More

The Daniel Boone room was okay. The room was clean. The hotel as advertised was built in the 1700s however, they had a fire a few years back and the rooms have been remodeled. It did not seem charming and quaint like a bed-and-breakfast at all.

We stayed here for a couples weekend and visited a couple of distilleries. I did not think this hotel would be fancy in any way, but was hoping it would be better than I expected. Unfortunately, it was not. The best way to describe this hotel is "Average." We stayed as a group renting 3 rooms. My wife and I... More

While visiting Kentucky's Bourbon and Wine Trial and visiting the countryside, I stayed in the Abraham Lincoln Suite. The rich historical site was chock full of antiques, a comfy bed & a balcony for smokers. We ate dinner in the Tavern and it was a scrumptious chicken pot pie. We saw no ghosts, but that was ok. Passersby hailed you... More
