The toilet in the Boone Room kept refilling soundlessly and very slowly to the point that the tank leaked out of the flusher handle hole. We reported it to Mary Jane who graciously replenished the towels (as we used the first batch to mop the floor). To our knowledge no managment person responded to the toilet issue. I kept flushing... My husband and I were in Bardstown for a few hours and stopped into The Talbot Tavern for an appetizer and a little rest. Much to our surprise we were welcomed with a musical delight, Rob Unseld. Rob played guitar and sang a wide range of artist's songs with his own personal style. We ordered blackened steak bites with horsey... More

My companion and I really enjoyed our stay here. The building is quaint, rustic, and full of history. There are creaky stairs, nooks and crannies, vintage decorations and cases of artifacts. The restaurant downstairs is an excellent place to have dinner as well! There is a beautiful balcony upstairs where you can sit and overlook the town square with a... More

Although we only live 30 miles away from the Talbott we have talked for years about staying at this great historic place. We stayed in the room where supposedly Jesse James saw something and drew his gun and shot in the room. The bullet hole is still there and adds character to the room. We were very comfortable and enjoyed... More

I stayed here for the reasons: 1. I was in town to see the band Big Black Cadillac at the bourbon bar inside the Talbott Tavern. 2.It is comfortable and affordable. 3.It's haunted. I've stayed here before and it's always been pleasant. We love to stay here and go to the bourbon bar and catch a local band and dance.... More

I had long wanted to stay at the Old Talbott Tavern; there aren't many places in the U.S. that can claim to be in operation since 1779. I had the Daniel Boone room, which I found to be comfortable, clean, and well appointed with antique furnishings (except for the flat screen TV). The room also had coffee maker and mini-fridge.... Oozing history at every turn, what a great place to stay. Only a handful of rooms so make sure and book your rooms early. Make sure to drop into the bourbon bar, I was told it was the oldest Bourbon Bar in the world.

This place was a step back in time, it was wonderful and educational. The Old Talbot Tavern was very clean, comfortable, and spacious for b&b rooms and even had a little chocolate on each pillow. Our room was above the bourbon bar but we didn't hear any loud noises during late hours; but we were told that on the weekends... More

The talbott Tavern is steeped in history and still offers a cozy place to stay at a reasonable rate w good food. This is their Hot Brown. You will luv the the historic area and close to Jim Beam Distillery.

We stayed just one night and I wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms are minimal but comfortable and clean. If you have never stayed in a tavern inn before, there will be noise and light in your room at night and you are basically on your own after a certain time. If this does not bother you, it... More
