My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary with a day on our pontoon at beautiful Wilson Lake and then a quiet, romantic stay at the Midland Hotel. We arrived at the hotel tired from our day at the lake. There was plenty of room to park both the boat and truck. We enjoyed a nice dinner in the Sample Room.... More

Rest In Peace We came, we saw and now lay conquered by restored splendor, Tom's storytelling, the friendliness of Glenda, the good witch of Kansas telling us the way to the pure waters of nearby Wilson lake so we could go kayaking. Spotlessly clean and exuding old world beauty at every turn, the Midland Railroad Hotel room number 312 afforded... More

What an Amazing place!! Rich in history and full of hospitality. We used this stop as a home base while exploring the small towns and local sites of Mid-Kansas. The Hotel was very neat and clean with a very accommodating staff. They made us feel right at home and welcomed. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. We will... More

I was staying in Wilson to visit a relative. This hotel was tremendous. The room was large and the set up was perfect for me sharing the room with my sister. It had a king bed, double sink outside the bathroom with shower and toilet in the bathroom. The room was super cute and very clean. We received a free... More

We were heading West on I-70 in Kansas on our way to Denver in need of a place to stay. There was not much in the way of Hotels when we saw a billboard advertising the Midland Railroad Hotel about 25 miles further West. What a great find. Built in 1902 after a fire and rebuilt in 2001 to original... More

The Midland Railroad Hotel was one of the best I have ever stayed at by far! We were headed to Tennessee and our transmisson went out. It was 1 a.m. when we got to this hotel. The lady and gent at the front desk were in their pj's (thats just a sign its a good hotel). They have a Continental... More

For a old railroad restored Hotel I was expecting really good hospitality.. When we first drove up there where a bunch of teenagers out on the stoop smoking. They all got up and disappeared into the Hotel. When we got to the front desk it then I realized they were the Hotel staff..very unprofessional looking and no manners..I was paying... More

My fiancee and I stayed here to attend a wedding nearby. Heddie (spelling?) the manager was very friendly and seemingly always on site, day and night. We enjoyed some drinks with friends in the basement bar called the "Sample Room" as well. There is even a cool outdoor fire pit on the patio to sit/sip by. The rooms are excellent,... More

Hotel was much better than I expected for such a small town. The owners were friendly and very accomodating. The rooms were large and also the bath. We were in the area to deer hunt and will stay on my next trip. The hotel has been totally remodeled but the historical look and feel remain.

My husband and I and our two kids stayed at the Midland Railroad Hotel for two nights so we could boat a Wilson Lake. Both the hotel and the lake did not disappoint us. The rooms were a step back in history and the pictures hanging on the wall were quite entertaining to to check out while walking around. The... More
