We had a group of 9 go for the Murder Mystery Dinner, and we stayed the night. The dinner was a lot of fun, and our host was fantastic. We had some last minute changes, and he accommodated us, and was very nice about it. Our dinner was good, as well. BUT, our breakfast the next morning was even better.... More

The innkeepers went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Very, very hospitable. Because the houses are so old they are not well "sealed" and there was an infestation of moths. They were everywhere, dead and alive. The houses' architecture were beautiful to look at. The accommodations were ok - the houses ARE about 100... More

For my 55th birthday, my family and friends took me to the Henderson House Inn to the "Panic at the Prom" Mystery Dinner Event. We drove the 92 miles from Wichita to the small town of Stafford, KS, where the Henderson House Inn comprises 4 Victorian-era houses and a Victorian-era church, all on the same street. We checked into our... More

Six of us went for the evening murder mystery (3 couples). Our event was at the Spickard house across the street from the Henderson House. The old houses are clean and very nicely decorated. The innkeeper, Jerry, met us at the house and we settled into our rooms (4 of us spent the night). The murder mystery was very fun... More

I went with a group of 8 for the "Panic at the prom" event on New Years Eve. It was not very well put together. They say they have a "professional Photographer" He is also the Chef and the inn keeper. They say they have a live DJ, this is a guy who plugs in his IPod. The food was... More

New Years Eve was the first night to run this event. As the event was to begin a wind storm knocked out electricity for the whole town. So, it disrupted everything relating to the Prom Event. However, within 20 minutes power was restored because Stafford had a backup generating plant. Otherwise, the evening would have been cancelled because other areas... More

We just returned from a wonderful overnight murder mystery weekend. We stayed in the Henderson House which was like stepping back in time. It was built in 1905 and had many of the original furnishings. The meal and mystery murder adventure took place across the street from the Henderson House in the Spickard House. There were 6 in our group... More

The Henderson Inn and Retreat Center in Stafford, KS has a number of different houses that are in the 100 year old vintage. We stayed at the Spickard House and had a room that was upstairs. The bed and bathroom were adequate. Someone met us when we arrived and there was one other guest. Part of the time we were... More

The Henderson House Bed and Breakfast is like taking a trip back to 1905 complete with a 1905 Victorian House and all the furnishings. My 25 year old daughter and I stayed in "Mary's Room" in The Henderson House (the owner's Grandmothers home) which is one of 4 early 1900 homes housed on Green Street in Stafford, KS. The homes... We decided to try something different for Christmas. Dan and I live amidst the hustle and bustle of Kansas City and wanted to try to slow things down with a traditional Christmas, the way our Grandparents experienced it! We went with my parents and spent 3 days there. The houses were magnificent! Everything was decorated so beautifully, and at night... More
