The owners very responsive, and the place has been more than clean. It is basic and and price is right. We have stayed here three times traveling from Iowa to NM. Reliable place to stop in the middle of nowhere. The early morning drive towards NM is amazing, full of flickers and hawks.

The 1st Travel Inn is moderately clean with comfortable beds, but has little else to recommend it for the traveler. The rooms are dated, especially regarding the bathroom. We could smell a bit of residual cigarette smoke in our non-smoking room (but thankfully not on the linen), and the bathroom had a faint smell of urine; ughh. We didn't get... More

Night # 2 of our cross country trip from Sedona AZ to Springfield, MA. We chose this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews, as we were looking for cheap, comfortable and clean. 1st Travel Inn scored on all three. The room was decorated like it was back in the 1960s (weird green/turquoise bathroom and ancient telephone and tv) but it was... More

The motel Is not brand new, but the bed is new enough to be good and the place is spotless. Staff was friendly and helpful. The quiet of being away from the Interstate was really nice. Reasonable price for a satisfactory motel. Use the money you save to go for breakfast at the Colonial Steak House--a bargain.

If you are looking for a place that offers a complimentary breakfast or even coffee (before 8am) well, keep looking. When I arrived I saw the coffee pot at the reception counter and I asked the German/Polish manger if she provided something to start the day with, like donuts & coffee and she spoke firmly, "Nothing, but coffee, but coffee... After 5 years owning the 1st Travel Inn we found out: You can't please everyone. For a discounted rate of $54.00 some guests expect all the amenities a High Dollar Hotel offers. That there is no coffee before 8 am and no breakfast the guest knew before he decided to stay. He even inspected and checked out the room beforehand.... More

We were driving through Kansas and needed a place to stay overnight. The reviews about this place were very helpful. It is a clean, quiet old fashioned place with caring owners. We got a senior rate of $57 (cash) for two beds on the first floor, fridge and microwave, plus free wifi. Parking is right in front of your door.... More

What a great place to stay when it's 103 degrees outside! The pool was small and family-oriented, and the owners gave our daughter a free set of water wings to keep. The wi-fi didn't quite reach our room, but that's OK -- we wanted to be outside the room on chairs in the evening anyway. Overall, it's a very friendly... More

This is an older facility, but it has been remodeled and is lovingly cared for. It is away from the Interstate and pleasantly quiet. The sleeping area had a queen bed, a sofa, TV, a mini microwave and refrigerator, and a dining table. There were two chairs, one at a desk and one at the bathroom vanity. My husband and... More

After trying a room at the #2 rated hotel (Annie Oakley Motel) and finding the room smelling too much of smoke, we were sent here by the owner. The room was instantly clean and I asked to see it before committing to staying there. The owner's son showed me the room and followed me around wiping up after me as... More

After reading all the positive reviews, I chose to stay here on a cross country trip with my dog this Spring. I was not disappointed. It's a very basic renovated motel from the 50s, with all the modern amenities and improvements one expects. Charming and homey, but nothing extraordinary. I'm giving it five stars for outstanding fresh-scrubbed cleanliness!
