I've stayed at the pony for a couple of months in 2014 because of my internship in Lawrence and a week last summer after work-related research project in America. Both my stays were terrific. After a total travel time of nearly 24 hours from Europe, I was received with open arms by the owner, Serina, who has become a friend... More

My wife and I stayed at the Runaway Pony over the Christmas holiday. We loved our stay. The room was spotless and Serena was the perfect hostess. Upon our arrival Serena gave us a tour of the house and let us have our pick of the available rooms. This was a tough deceision because all the rooms were beautiful with... More

As a family of four, we often travel to Lawrence to visit relatives, and we are so happy to have found such a truly lovely place to stay! This b&b is far more welcoming than any we have come across, and Serina, the owner, makes it feel like home for us. The decor is at once luxurious and down to... More

We absolutely loved this B&B, that felt more like OUR luxury home than a B&B – it's owner, Serina, made us feel so welcome & comfortable. Serina has the most wonderful taste in furniture, color and decor and this beautiful Victorian home is walking distance to Mass. Ave – a "mass" of unique restaurants & stores. Fantastic dining of all... More

My husband was competing in the Ironman Kansas. We were late making reservations and found the Runaway Pony and booked the room without even reading reviews. We were so very happy to have found it. Other guests were also competing in the Ironman and the owner graciously offered up the kitchen for the athletes to make up their race day... More

My husband and I needed a weekend getaway in order to recharge our batteries. The Runaway Pony was our pick and we were very happy with the choice. Vicky, the manager, greeted us at the door and was very gracious. She showed us around, asked what time we would like to eat breakfast and gave us the keys. We stayed... More

Husband and I took a last minute trip to Lawrence this weekend, and I booked the Runaway Pony for us. He'd never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, I grew up staying in them. The price was better than prices for hotels in the area with comparable amenities, it has a 15 minute walk from the concert we were... More

I was in town for a quick one day/one night visit with my daughter, a student at KU. I've stayed at several of the hotels in town, but my stay at this B&B is one of my favorite. The house is lovely, the rooms are all beautifully furnished, and the hospitality is unparalleled. Owner Serina Allison is very personable and... More

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here for our anniversary. Each room had so many fun little things to look at. The bookshelf was stocked with delightful reads. The owner was so sweet and made us a delicious meal fit for a king (and queen). The location was perfect for us to walk to the main street where... More

This is a great B&B. I was a guest for three weeks earlier this year. When it was time to return to Lawrence this summer, I didn't even consider any of the many other places to stay. It is the perfect balance of homey-ness and indulgence.
