This hotel is in a great location, especially for anyone visiting KU. We were there for a wedding. The hotel itself is beautiful but our room was not. The room was nicely done but when we walked in, it smelled like something had died in there. We called and they said they would come I refresh the room. I think... More

What a great find. You would never guess that this hotel is only four years old. It was designed to blend with the historic buildings of the nearby University of Kansas. The views were wonderful and it appears that every room has a view (don't hold me to that though). The staff was very friendly. The hotel is often used... More

Everything and everyone was the best. We will stay at the Oread Hotel whenever we are in Lawrence. We attended a wedding in the Hancock Room. The facility was excellent. The Valet Parking was exceptional. All the hotel employees were eager to help and always had a smile with a can do attitude. The rooms were very classy and most... More

Just got back from a visit to Lawrence, Kansas and experienced one of the great hotels of all times. Remarkable rooms, beautiful views, numerous places to have parties and gather for meetings all at the entrance to the University of Kansas. I loved this hotel and wish the owners would consider branching out to other locations. I actually could live... More

We stayed at The Oread on May 31, 2014. Upon checking out, after a very lengthy delay (like 25 minutes), the valet finally brought our car around to us. We immediately noticed a large, fresh scrape on the rear panel of the car. Long story short, the valet brought me the business card of the hotel's General Manager. I was... More

My wedding experience at The Oread was wonderful. I had my ceremony on the 9th floor terrace and it was absolutely breathtaking. The terrace overlooks the KU campus, which was special to me because my husband and I met there. My reception was in the Hancock Ballroom and it was gorgeous. My guests could not get over how beautiful the... More

My number one compliment about staying with The Oread is the quality of service. I felt extra special being a bride at The Oread - all of staff were congratulatory, helpful, warm … and they made me feel like everything was taken care of. If we ever had questions, we were assisted quickly, within a timely manner. I had a... More

Was mortified to see this monstrosity instead of campus mainstays when I was a student 30 years ago.. Yellow Sub and the Crossing.. I got over it as the staff were great, close to campus, very spacious rooms. I loved the views from room and terrace. The nest was never open while I was there. The room itself had odd... More

We stay here over and over again when visiting our sons at school. It is a beautiful newer hotel that mirrors the look of the beautiful limestone ("rock chalk") campus buildings, and it is within walking distance of the student union. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, and the showers are spacious. The people who work there are very... More
