Hotel is older, but nicely kept up. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Good deal for the price, and there were nice restaurants very close also. Outdoor pool was a little chilly, but the kids loved it. Also, indoor hot tub was right off the pool and nice and convenient. more

Although parts of the exterior need some sprucing up, the interior was pleasant and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. The motel had quite a few customers but was quiet.. I would stay there again. more

This is a very very clean room and the staff was great! The beds are the best I have ever slept in at a motel stay. The outside don't look great ( a little run down ) but overall was good. The shower was clean clean. I would stay here anytime. more

Although not new, this property is convenient from I-70, has spacious rooms, and is extremely clean. Staff was hospitable. Highly recommended for the cost conscious traveler. more

My wife's parents live in Hays and my parents live nearby, so we spend several nights a year (usually around CHristmas) in a hotel in Hays. I hadn't tried the Vagabond until last year (it doesn't look like anything special) but it's my first choice now. Very nice rooms and service. more
