I am a year late in sending this review, but I believe in doing both the good and bad reviews. Several years ago I stayed at this property when it was a Super 8, and it was OK--nothing special, but clean and safe enough, and a good price. I stayed again last summer on my way home from Colorado, making a detour to this part of Kansas. However, now it is better to pay a bit more and stay somewhere else in Great Bend. The desk personnel were not very friendly, the room was not clean enough, and the whole place was run down. It didn't have a good look or feel. But do visit the area. For someone from Illinois, Great Bend has that "western town" feel. The area has fantastic birding at Cheyenne Bottoms and Quivera NWR, so find a better hotel, and enjoy your stay.
