At the time of writing, they are improving the road from Thimpu. This means that there are only certain times when the road is open and it is in a terrible state. So our journey from Amankora Thimpu took seven hours of fairly horrible driving. The views and the guides, who are incredibly knowledgeable, do a good job of making... More

Like the 3 other Bhutan Amankora locations we stayed in, this is an immaculate property. The service is charming and professional, the suites are generously spaced and comfortable. The restaurant is subtle with a mix of western and Asian food choices. We chose to visit in November to coincide with the Black-necked Crane Festival in the courtyard of the Gangte... More

This place was in the perfect location and it gave a sense of being in a far away place, surrounded by nature and culture. The view from the rooms was stunning, the near by neighborhood was very charming and activity was unique. The potato shed dinner which is an additional supplement to the hotel charges was such a special event.... More

At the head of a stunning valley carved out by a long melted glacier, sits a property distinctive in the simplicity of its design. The tranquility and beauty of this spot is very special. The hotel itself can best be described as minimalist...a concrete, wood and glass structure sympathetically folded into its surroundings. But inside, all is super comfortable. The... More

If you've navigated the various Amankora resorts in Bhutan, Gangtey is the icing on the cake at the end of your travels as you have extended deep into this small but very special mountainous country. You have weathered the treacherous roads, the rising altitude, and the cold, but you are immensely rewarded by this stunning architectural beauty built to gaze... More

Everything that has to be said about this outstanding Aman outpost has already been mentioned. If you enjoy tracking; check out the trail itinerary in the room and ask about the black neck crane migration around the end / beginning of November. The potato shed bath was a nice way to soak away tired muscles. In spite of the precarious,... More

All of the Aman hotels in Bhutan are outstanding. Their location is spectacular and rooms very comfortable. The service is way beyond anything I have experienced anywhere else in the world. Service is invisible but present even before you realize you need something! The Aman hotels are flexible ( we had to adjust our route last minute because of bad... More

You don't realize how amazing the Aman until you witness what the they have created in this desolate location. Top notch lodgings, facilities, service and standard of food that never ceases to amaze. This was our favorite Aman hotel in Bhutan (we didn't go to Bumthang). The hotel manager is local Bhutanese and was just perfect in making our stay... More

This Amankora is managed by a very talented gal from Switzerland. The staff was incredibly responsive to our needs. Of course, as in all Amankora Hotels, the rooms were luxurious. Before our departure, lunch was served to us out in the courtyard. It was a beautiful day sitting there. It actually reminded me of Tuscany. Our entire group agreed that... More

I visited the Amankora in Gangtey last night with a friend since we were staying in the valley in a different hotel that was arranged by our tour package. We have been visting other Amankora spa's throughout out visit to Bhutan. We started with massages... we had requested 90 min and ended up only getting 60 min. Which was disappointing... More
