All of the Aman hotels in Bhutan are outstanding. Their location is spectacular and rooms very comfortable. The service is way beyond anything I have experienced anywhere else in the world. Service is invisible but present even before you realize you need something! The Aman hotels are flexible ( we had to adjust our route last minute because of bad... More

You don't realize how amazing the Aman until you witness what the they have created in this desolate location. Top notch lodgings, facilities, service and standard of food that never ceases to amaze. This was our favorite Aman hotel in Bhutan (we didn't go to Bumthang). The hotel manager is local Bhutanese and was just perfect in making our stay... More

This Amankora is managed by a very talented gal from Switzerland. The staff was incredibly responsive to our needs. Of course, as in all Amankora Hotels, the rooms were luxurious. Before our departure, lunch was served to us out in the courtyard. It was a beautiful day sitting there. It actually reminded me of Tuscany. Our entire group agreed that... More

I visited the Amankora in Gangtey last night with a friend since we were staying in the valley in a different hotel that was arranged by our tour package. We have been visting other Amankora spa's throughout out visit to Bhutan. We started with massages... we had requested 90 min and ended up only getting 60 min. Which was disappointing... More

Long drive on challenging roads to get here but a spectacular drive. A small lodge with 8 rooms all with views of the Gantey Valley. This is the only lodge set in an isolated village of the 5 Amankora lodges, so it allowed us to meet the locals especially the children who all spoke fluent English which is their second... More

We stayed at this propery in November 2013 for two nights. We were in the valley to see the annual black-necked crane festival. The hotel only has 8 suites, that are extremely comfortable. They look out over part of the Phobjika Valley. The staff were lovely, very helpful. The food was good & a lovely picnic lunch was given to... More

My wife and myself recently had an opportunity to travel to Bhutan. While in Bumthang, we decided to drive to Amankora for dinner. Huge mistake! The first downer was the communal seating. They just have two big tables to seat all the guests. The menu was very limited with the choices, but we assumed that the food will be spectacular,... More

Part of the Amankora chain of lodges in Bhutan. Wonderful position looking down the valley. Great sitting room. Very high quality food. Perfect spacious bedroom with a wood burning stove. Service exemplary. Dinner in the potato she'd is the most romantic experience on earth. You pay a high price but the. Best never comes cheap.

The hallmark of Aman hotels is great service, and it's even better at the Amankora Gangtey - not surprising given the exceptional ratio of 54 (very friendly) staff for 8 rooms!! They tidy up the room several times a day; comply with special requests at the restaurant, for picnic or tours. Two recommended activities at a 10 minute walk from... More

The individual rooms for all of the Amankora hotels in Bhutan are similar: large, comfortable, and quiet. What sets the Gangtey Amankora apart from the others is the beautiful location. Access to the hotel is via a short, pine needle-carpeted path under a canopy of trees with hanging moss. The lobby/lounge has gorgeous views of the Dzong and valley. There... More
