I along with many other travelers were stranded along I 80 during a major ice storm. Rooms were availabe, and I did stay there. However, the following morning when I went to gas up on the other side of the interstate - and during conversation where I mentioned the price of the room - several employees at the station were... more

The owners are very helpful and friendly. This hotel is very clean even in the corners!! most places miss that. My two kids were very welcome. We are always travling with a long gooseneck trailer hauling tractors there are many places that have no parking. more than plenty of parking here and they made sure our room was located so... more

We stayed here because it was the only place near Amana Colonies with available rooms. It was filthy. The carpet was filthy. The chairs were covered with dust. The towels were stained and smelled. The bathrooms seemed clean enough except for the shower curtain. We had no bath soap, only a facial bar, and only 2 towels. There is a... more

The exterior of hotel is very deceiving, for it looked rather clean and nice. The inside has a complete opposite appearance! The front lobby is cramped and does not match at all, gives you the feeling of misorganization. We had room on second floor, so after geting off elevator we were hit in the face with smell of cat urine!... more

Arrived at the hotel to find signs posted all over the place that cars will be towed if not a registered guest, entered the establishement to register and the owner was the person registering people and was incredibly rude to us. Rooms were in so/so condition, not very clean at all, mattresses were worn and uncomfortable. We stayed for 2... more

The Heritage Inn was formerly affiliated with Comfort Inns. We have stayed at this location previously when it was a Comfort Inn. Considering that there are no new hotels in the immediate area, this hotel, though privately owned, is convenient to the interstate and the Amana Colonies. It was quite with few people staying at the time that we did.... more

The location for us was a good one-near Iowa City & the Amana Colonies. The price was reasonable. The room decor, size and cleanliness were fine. The linens & sheets, as other guests have complained, were worn. Our sheets were thin & came off at the corners to expose a worn pad. The bed was not very comfortable either. The... more

We stayed at the Heritage Inn at exit 225 off I-80. The hotel was clean & staff was accommodating (extra pillows). The pool area is quite nice as well. They used to have a breakfast bar, but that is no longer available. They do have an agreement with a couple of local restaurants for 10% discount. It is a quiet... more

My friends and I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Amana Colonies and because it advertised itself as the newest facility at the location. We were unpleasantly surprised to find that our hotel room was in fact NOT newly appointed. Rather, the beds were uncomfortable, the linens and towels were quite worn, and we didn’t find the... more

My stay here was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. The proprietor (who has no help except for one cleaning person), has no customer service skills whatsoever; he was extremely rude and insulting. The first room he put us in smelled terrible. We thought things would get better when he agreed to move us. While the second... more
