Just returned home from a 3 day stay at Timberline Campgrounds in Waukee, Iowa. I am so sad to say that I would never stay there again and I surely would not recommend it to anyone. I specifically asked before making reservation if we would have a problem getting Wi-Fi, as my husband was taking a financial class and was... More

This campground is not worth the money. Horrible, small and un-level sites, playground is outdated, pool is small with only five chairs, no fire pits at some sites, bathrooms so small and dirty. Please don't waste your time or money. I don't know who would ever go back or like this place.

After reading the poor reviews on this site we decided to go ahead and give it a whirl. Friendly staff, great pool, clean bathrooms and private showers, games in rec room are cheap, and fun playground! The sites are all shaded and level. I can't figure out why anyone gave it a bad review? Dark and quiet at night super... More

The phone conversations that I had with the host this morning in an attempt to make a reservation were enough to turn me off of this place... WOW. I would assume that someone in this position would practice a higher level of customer care... After I explained to her the size of camper we had, what type of hookup we... More

Right to the point..........This is a trap for "No Refund" camping. False advertising and down right scary. Sat behind the RV in fear of being hit by stray bullets. The "shooting range" that has dozens of people firing, is 20 feet from the front of our site. Non stop shooting with an out house directly in front of us. First... More

Stayed in one of the cabins, with my Husband and 2 small boys. It was a hot July week, and the cabin was quiet and cool. Location was out of the way of everything, but only a short drive to town. Loved the quiet peaceful nature and yet the modernness bathrooms and AC. the pool was small, and crowded and... More

Wow, the sites are REALLYTight. But there are very few other campers here so we do have space. And there really are no campfire rings except in rare sites. So they expect campers to share a campfire. Nice social idea; but would not be for us. We are here in late October, they will be closing in another week. Our... More

The road into the campground is big enough for only one vehicle to travel. Scary if you are driving a large motorcoach or have a big trailer. The property "looks" well cared for BUT the sites are not leveled - the sitles are small and because no one escorts you to your site --- you can come back to your... More

If traveling I-80 across Iowa this place is worth a short jaunt off. Nice, shaded sites, friendly folk. Can wash your rig (for a charge, of course). swimming pool. Great for a stop over. West of DES Moines.
