I stayed here with my daughter & granddaughter first night in & last night out on a weektrip to the UK. The inn has an "olde worlde" appearance, with hop ranks on the ceilings, and a solid, good kitchen. The room we booked was for 3 persons - added bed adequate. Clean and neat, with outdated geese-ornaments. All the staff... More

We live locally & will always recommend The Black Horse at Thurnham. A good roast dinner in a restaurant is hard to find but we never leave here disappointed. There is always good selection of specials on offer & the staff are always welcoming & aim to please. Would definately recommend.

Stayed here in early August 2014 with a group of friends for an event at the nearby events centre. The accommodation is in a series of connected small chalet rooms in the steeply sloping gardens. We had ones at the bottom of the hill, in the trees. It was very peaceful and pleasant. Dinner and breakfast were back up the... More

Stayed here for my cousins wedding. A beautiful venue, to spend time with family and friends. We stayed here with our dog for the night, which was perfect, the rooms are in small blocks like a complex and ideal for a short break. The room was clean and had everything you could possibly need. There was tea/coffee making facilities, nice... More

we stayed here for three nights B & B , what a great find. The rooms are lovely spacious cabins in the grounds. light and clean with all that you need. Breakfast is taken in the pub and the food and service is great. We decided after long days visiting family and sightseeing that we would eat in the pub... More

After reading reviews on this site which in the main were positive , we decided to give it a try . I am afraid to say that it was a costly mistake . Accomadation was fine , clean and tidy with adequate facilities , parking was good , check in quick efficient and friendly , that was the good bit... More

Finding a truly dog-friendly place to stay is still a bit of a rarity in the UK, certainly when compared to France, so we were really looking forward to our stopovers here on both our way to the Eurotunnel and on our way back. After a long day travelling the 500 miles down from Scotland, we were relieved when we... More

We use this inn every so many years for a short break or stop over. Now on our way to Ireland. Still the same warm welcome as 3 years ago. Nice rooms, well cleaned and we had an excellent dinner in the restaurant with sticky toffee pudding as desert. Just for the desert we would come back. Very quiet surroundings,... More

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife and dog, the chalet rooms are ideal and being dog friendly were perfect for us, the pub is beautifully kept and has fantastic beer gardens, lovely setting for wedding reception. The pub has no TV (it's not that kind of a pub) so on our first night we walked up to the... More
