Checked into a dog friendly room and it was 75 degrees in November. No matter what I put the thermostat at the room wouldnt cool off. The manager acknowledged that the heater was not working correctly and he knew it before I checked in. He uncovered the window ac unit and wanted me to run it to keep the room... More

Perfect for what we needed!! We were on a drive from Mississippi to Minnesota and needed a rest for the night. Great price. Clean room with air conditioning. Very nice mom and pop staff. Dated but quaint. Simple and inexpensive. Couldn't ask for more.

We arrived in the evening with no reservations and they had two rooms on the second floor. No elevator. our greeting was "do you have reservations" not hello, how may I help you etc. Everything is outdated to the point it could be a 60's museum. Our room was clean and beds were fine, but the room had a bit... More

We knew upon arrival that the motel is older, so we didn't have high expectations as far as amenities. However, when it comes to cleanliness, I definitely expected more. It was evident that the sheets and pillow cases were not clean; there was long dark hair all over. We brought our own bedding, luckily! The shower is very old and... More

The lady who checked us in was very, very nice. Every day there were fresh towels, soap, cups, etc. in the bathroom and all the wastebaskets in the room were emptied. We stayed 4 nights and one of the nights the sheets had been changed. It was a very pleasant place to stay and we will definitely stay there on... More

I recently stayed 2-nights at the Roy El Motel on 61. The room was clean and comfortable for a good price.

My husband and I had to stay at the motel when our home was flooded in 2008. The managers were very friendly and compassionate. We have to large dogs and they were welcomed in our room while we were with them. There was a terrible storm one of the days we were there and the managers took us to the... More

This motel is conveniently located on Highway 61 and is more than adequate for a good night's stay. The owners are on the scene and are helpful about finding meals and resources which are not abundant, although the bait and lunch shop just north on the highway is definitely worth a visit for the homemade pie alone---and, of course, the...
