Ended up in walnut as a esult of a navigational error, Stayed here on a whim and were glad we did. Room was large, clean and comfy, Free breakfast was good, restaurant next door was excellent. Even the attached fuel station staff were great. If you are in the area I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a stop over point. more

I try to go to smaller restaruants and locally owned hotels. I enjoy the experience better and this little exit was awesome. Nice place and great beds, breakfast was very enjoyable and the locally owned restaurant right beside Super 8 was awesome. Great Stay! If I ever drive through Iowa again, I'm stopping here... more

Room was large, comfortable and clean, but noise from the plumbing was so loud it woke us up several times. Our room was on the highway side and after being disturbed by the plumbing I let the truck noise lull me back to sleep until the next time someone turned on the water. The breakfast was good (I like waffles!),... more

It's very close to the highway, the rooms are fairly spacious, were clean when we were there, and most (not all) have microwaves and mini-fridges. A non-chain restaurant, a McDonalds, and gas station with sizable convenience store are all within 50 feet of the entrance, so you can get off and on the highway very quickly. If you're going to... more

After staying at several other questionable super 8's for the previous two days, Walnut was a pleasant surprise. It was one of the nicer super 8 we had stayed at on our trip. It had a modest sized working clean pool, and decent continential breakfast w/ a waffle maker. The room we were given was decently sized (one bed queen... more

We stayed here on our way to Des Moines. The room was very nice and quite large. The pool is small, but was fine for our children. The breakfast was okay. I have stayed at quite a few Super 8's and found this one to be the best yet! I love larger rooms and this one was clean, quiet, and... more

I've never stayed at a Super 8 but was pleasantly surprised. The people were friendly, the room clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. The kids loved the pool - while it's not good for swimming laps it's perfect for splashing around. This was the least expensive hotel we stayed in during our trip and was one of... more

This property is a "Pride of Super 8" and deserves the laurels. Very clean and nicely appointed rooms, the air conditioner worked great, nice continental breakfast, and what a charming little town. After a day on the road, it was great to visit the two block long main street and have a beer at the little tavern, then dinner at... more

The Super 8 in Walnut, IA was the best stop on our trip. Great price, large, super-clean room, comfortable beds, friendly staff, and a pool. What else could a traveler need? The beds were so comfy that a rare thing happened: we over-slept! more
