We escaped to Kundasang for a family weekend retreat from the hustle and bustle of Kota Kinabalu city life! We made reservation via Celyn Hotel in City Mall which was a plus point. However, the staff product knowledge of their sister property in Kundasang was lacking eg. how do we get there? what are the tourist attractions? what are the... More

The hotel was located abt 3km from the mainroad.. and my... the road from the mainroad.. was not fully tar road.. so.. it was a little bit of roller coaster ride... As the hotel location was quite deserted ( i would say... More

My friend and I went to KK for two days before proceeding to Celyn Resort at Kundasang from Padang Merdeka. One can take the shared van(we waitied for around 1hour for the van to be fully occupied, takes about 2hours ride from KK to Kundasang) from Padang Merdeka, at anytime during the day time, to Kundasang. However, search for the... More

This resort is located on top of a hill (about 2000m above sea level). It is a very nice resort, safe, and relatively clean. Myself and my family stayed at Jungle Villa (J2), for 2 nights (29 May - 31 May 2012). The room was clean, and very comfortable for us. We enjoyed staying at this room (with a king... More

We arrived at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) at around 6:40 PM. After our brief stop at the Money Exchange at the airport (they accept USD in 50 and 100 bills and of 2006 series or later only), we were greeted by Roy, our driver/guide for the whole duration of the four-day tour. We hopped in his Proton compact car... More

I would like to start with the most important thing in this review. If you are self-driving with GPS, please ignore the direction when GPS ask you to make a turn in Kundasang town. Go straight and you shall see another big road sign on your right, follow that path. The entrance is opposite a local shop called "Vanilla Shop"... More

This hotel is only suitable for people with vehicles as it is miles out, in the middle of nowhere and the only transport available is the hotel taxi which proved very expensive. Best to stay in the Kinabula park itself. The room (Valley Wing) had an awful smell, tap was hanging off but nothing was done to fix it despite... More

We have been lucky to ne upgraded in the rooms with a view on the mountains (we booked the valley view on Agoda). If you can afford, don't hesitate for the mountains view. Comfort is basic, bathrooms are very basic but you will have everything you need except a fridge and a safe. TV flat screen does not provide a... More
