Celyn Resort is a good place to stay. It is nicely located at the hill top. Although the journey from the main road to the hotel is quite challenging, it is worthwhile to experience the stay at the hill top. The other uniqueness of the hotel is that you will be able to view the Mount Kinabalu from the hotel.... More

Pros: magnificent views Some friendly staff, the men are friendly, some of the ladies are not too chipper. Cons : I don't understand why the hotel is happy to leave the windows wide open at night letting all the moths in. Not pleasant when tucking into a meal. The room is very dated, the bathroom looked old and unclean. Lizard... More

2 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu city. As other reviewers said, the 10 minutes gravel road drive before reach the hotel was a horrible moment. But when reached the hotel, the view, environment and weather will makes u feel totally worth it!!! The steamboat dinner should have more variety . The hotel bar is a nice place to chill. Beer... Please rent a car if you plan on staying here. Heck, if you're spending any number of nights around Kundasang/Kinabalu park/Ranau area... Rent a DECENT car. At least a proton saga or better... On your first drive up you'll want to be there before sunset. It's located on the top of a hill facing mt Kinabalu, about 15-20 mins from... More

We checked in on 21st February 2014 for a one night stay in a Kinabalu wing room. The room was clean with one queen bed, a television, a dvd player. The bathroom was equipped with a water heater shower. There were 2 chairs and a table at the veranda facing the magnificent Mount Kinabalu. The resort was located about 2... More

I initially booked family villa, but upgrade to Chalet Villa to the receptionist obliged. Check in process was fast and the staffs were very friendly. The room was spacious abd clean and equipped with microwave and fridge. The room faced the mighty Mount Kinabalu and the scenery was just perfect and beautiful. If you not local, first timer and starts your journey from KK, dont afraid to rent a Car. Normally RM140 Per day. The gps signal is good all the way to Kundasang 95km. Ok, talk about the Resort. It located on top of the hill and 2km frm main road. The room is clean and we got room faced to... More

During our last trip to KK in November 2013, we booked a room at Celyn Resort's Kinabalu Wing for 2 nights at RM200 a night. We had rented a car from KK City solely for the purpose of going up to Kundasang / Ranau area. Being first-timers here, we were quite clueless as to where things are in Kundasang /... More

A series of chalets and lodges set high on a hilltop with stunning views of the landscape and especially of Mt Kinabalu. The site of this resort is absolutely stunning. The drive up a very steep, bumpy road is daunting - but when you reach the entrance the lovely gardens unfold and the chalets await in the cool mountain air.... More

Having visited Kinabalu Pines Resort while I was there, I thought Celyn Resort is a better choice in terms of value for money and its amazing view if you choose to stay at Kinabalu wing. But I think it's still ok if you opt for the Valley wing because you would still have a good access to the view with... More
