My husband and I were planning to golf in a tournament on the weekend of his birthday. I thought, even though we lived within an hour of Pella, IA, why not make it a getaway with him for the night. I didn't want to stay in a traditional hotel, but looked for a B&B. Found the Cheesemaker's Inn .... set... More

My wife and I chose The Cheesemaker’s Inn on a whim while we were visiting Pella from the Kansas City area. Rob and Kim warmly welcomed us and made us feel right at home. We met another couple with whom we ended up befriending and enjoyed a glass of wine with them on the porch. We stayed in the Picasso... More

stayed here 2 nights. great hospitality without being intrusive. Amenities first class-beautifully decorated rooms, touches like fresh coffee and cold drinks available all times, breakfast lovely home cooked food -a different menu each day. Location perfect for touring area. Rob took us on a tour of the family cheese/dairy farm and even waited whilst we went to the nearby winery.

I arrived at the Inn after a busy week in Pella visiting family, enjoying "Tulip Time", and playing tourist. The hospitality shown me by Kim and Rob was nothing short of gracious. My "Martha's Vineyard" room was perfect for a weary traveler. I thoroughly enjoyed the coffee, tea, and bottled water counter that was a "help yourself" and on the... More

We stayed at The Cheesemaker's Inn during the Tulip Festival in Pella. We arrived a little after 5:00PM on Wednesday evening greeted by Rob. He helped carry our bags in and introduced us to his wife, Kim. She then showed us some of the amenities, Keurig coffee, selection of teas & soda, which was self serve for us to enjoy... More

We stayed at the Cheesemaker's Inn over Easter weekend. My husband's heritage is Dutch, so he wanted to experience Pella. The town itself was super cute -- but our favorite part was the Cheesemaker's Inn. Rob and Kim exceeded our expectations -- they are so full of knowledge on Pella. They took time out of their day to take us... More

My family and I stayed at the Cheesemaker's Inn during the week of Christmas while we were there to see family. The experience we had at this bed and breakfast was above and beyond our expectations. Our rooms were comfortable and spotless. Rob and Kim were more than accommodating to any of our needs. Kim's breakfast every morning was the... More

This experience was wonderful from the beginning to the end! Rob contacted us via E-mail and a phone call once we had made the reservation to make sure we had directions, see if we had any dietary needs, etc. They were home when we arrived and showed us to our room, which was nice! The jacuzzi was great, and they... More

A friend and I stayed two nights over the weekend and left this morning. We thought the place was even better than described on the website. Our adventure started Friday evening when my phone rang during our drive there. It was Rob checking to make sure we were okay since we were arriving later than originally planned. We ended up... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Cheesemaker's Inn is a restored turn-of-the century farmhouse located 5 minutes from downtown Pella and 5 minutes from Lake Red Rock. Located directly on the biking/walking trail that joins Pella and the lake, you can also bike or walk to these locations. There are four second-floor guest suites at the recently renovated inn, each with a private bath and modern comforts. The rooms are uniquely decorated with themes that range from rich and elegant to cottage-chic. Two of the rooms have private sun porches and all 4 have queen-sized beds fitted with luxurious linens. Each suite has individual temperature controls, free 5G WiFi, TV, cable and internet access on smart flat-screen TVs. The complimentary breakfast includes garden and dairy-fresh ingredients when possible and homemade Dutch pastries or specialities from Pella bakeries. The Inn is closely affiliated with Frisian Farms Cheese Company, a working family dairy farm and Iowa's only farmstead cheese producer located 10 miles southeast of Pella. The Inn coordinates tours to Frisian Farms and serves a number of Frisian Farms' artisanal Gouda cheese specialities. We recommend combining a farm tour with the nearby Tassle Ridge winery a short distance away. Our mission at The Cheesemaker's Inn is to encourage you to slow down and savor local foods in the relaxed farmhouse atmosphere of our family home. It is the personal details at the Inn that make staying with us a special experience. ... more   less
