The hotel is on a small man made canal surrounded by shops and buildings with Dutch architectural style from several hundred years ago. It's next to the largest working windmill in the world. The only European style I found inside was that keys were kept in mail slots behind the desk. The pillows were the most uncomfortable I've ever encountered.... More

This hotel is really home away from home. Bed was very comfy, fluffy soft towels ( and lots of them) in room coffee maker, hot shower, roomy clean, small fridge, everything i needed. Breakfast provided with a nice variety of oatmeal, ceral, buscuits and gravy, pastries and a variety of bread and a toaster. Lovely views as well. Highly recommend.

The Visit Pella special package offered by the Royal Amsterdam was a great value and a wonderful way to explore the history of Pella and enjoy some delicious meals. The package included tickets to tour the working Windmill and historic village and Amsterdam in miniature; a delicious lunch at the Tea Room and an enjoyable dinner at the hotel's restaurant.... Beautiful location on the "canal" in Pella. We attended a wedding in the Pella area, and could not have been more pleased with this hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable, quiet rooms. Underground parking available. Dined in the hotel restaurant the first night and both enjoyed the food and wine selection. Highly recommend this hotel.

The service at the Royal Amsterdam Hotel was excellent! When I made my reservation they suggested I call on the day I was to arrive and they would let us check in early if our room was ready, which it was. There was convenient parking in a garage under the hotel for only $5.00 a night, all of the staff... More

Accompanied by our long-time traveling companions, we spent four glorious days in Pella, Iowa, highlighted by our stay at the Royal Amsterdam. The rooms were fabulous, the food beyond delicious, and the staff and location were unbeatable. Located in the heart of historic Pella, the hotel was our central point for planning and exploring every type of interesting activity available...of... More

Stayed at the Royal Amsterdam for a "sister's weekend". This is the sixth annual trip for us girls and every year it gets better. Sherri runs a very efficient hotel without losing any of the "Dutch" charm. Our rooms are always spotless and the staff very friendly and helpful. Beverly (who runs things during the weekend) is always there to... More

I have not been able to work in any vacation this year. So I had a chance to speak to the Iowa County Treasurers group at their training session. I had passed though Pella, Iowa before but never stayed just a pit stop and grab a bite them on my way. I knew is was a town with very deep... More

My wife and I checked in early and we were greeted with a smile and allowed to check in early. The hotel itself is perfect. The location is 1/2 block from the downtown area and the hotel overlooks the Molengracht, which is a small canal running through the block, reminiscent of Amsterdam. Our only disappointment was that the city drains... More

The best location in town if you are spending the night. Great beds. Clean. Nice staff. Very nice breakfast included. Walking distance to nearly everything in town. Parking below the hotel was nice too :-)
