This was supposed to be a final night of relaxation at the end of a 2-week vacation. Reservations were made for a room with a king-size bed and whirlpool tub. When we checked in, the lobby was sloppy, and the desk clerk, although very helpful, did not look professional at all. We proceeded to check in at around 8:30 p.m. and was told by the desk clerk that he wanted to walk us to our room (which was around the corner from the front desk) because the computer listed our room as "occupied." He also informed us that we should let him know if we had problems with the switch on the whirlpool, and he could throw the breaker. Here's where the red flags begin. Upon entering the room, we were almost knocked over by the stench of mold. The lights beside the bed and the clock would not function because the electrical socket wasn't functional.
