Good location and excellent potential, but new owners have closed on site restaurant and lounge and are clearly not putting anything into maintenance of the facility and rooms. Free breakfast still available and very good with hot items. Indoor pool is decent size. Hot tub available. If you like quiet, make sure to ask for a room away from the... More

Hello and thank you for staying at our property, we appreciate you taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor. Couple of clarifications I would like to address though, we do not have new owners; Shaner Operating Corp. purchased us in 1998, however they do have us on the market. I too wish our Lounge and Banquet departments were... More

If you love going back to the 1980s and living a Miami vice lifestyle this Iowa hotel is for you. This facility replicates a no update attitude with carefully preserved artifacts from its former holiday inn glory days. The facility is oddly light with no parking lot lights or overhang lights. The toilet flushes 24/7 and it's been worn with... More

Hello Nicholas, Thank you for taking the time to write a review for our hotel and appreciate your return business. I will research the issue you described with our parking lot lights, I was unaware that they were not working and will get this corrected right away as this could be a safety issue for our guests and our employees.... I do not recommend staying here. Our bathroom was filthy, the bath faucet was pushed into to the wall, the wallpaper was pealing, the ceiling stained, the curtains were stained and the couch was dirty. On top of it all, the pool heater was broke so the water was freezing, leaving us to try and entertain our child in a... More

Michelle, Thank you for taking the time to complete our survey. I'm very disappointed to hear about our lack of cleanliness in the room you stayed in. I have taken you comments to both the housekeeping and maintenance supervisor's so we can correct all of these issues you encountered. We were also hit with a double whammy on our pool,... More

Another fun trip to Iowa! Thanks for the great room. The outside design of the building kinda threw us off a little, but the room was beautiful! Very clean, big, comfortable and decorated nicely. The brighter neutral colors you use make the room more enjoyable. Thank you also for your fun hospitality! The pool and jacuzzi area, and the open... More

We use to love this hotel and continue to hope for something better. They've updated linens which is nice. The breakfast was mediocre. We had dogs with us and they made no effort to clean the room, which honestly we were okay with because we had prepaid rate through a booking site for three days which we were pleased with.... More

Thank you for taking the time to complete our survey. I'm sorry to hear of the confusion with our pet policy which is signed upon check in stating the pet charges and cleaning schedule of rooms with pets in them. I'm unsure of who would of told you the pet charges were inclusive with the room charge as it has... More

It is so sad to see what is happening to this hotel! It has such potential to be a great place but it seems that the corporate Clarion just intends to run it into the ground!!!! To shut down the towns best reception/banquet facility is appalling! This is the only facility in town that wedding guests (or holiday part, etc)... More

Thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. We have started allowing pool parties again so please call for information on how to set one up. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Friends came by and used the pool while I was there. It was very cold outside but toasty warm in the room. I had no noise problems at all. I had stayed here when it was still Holiday Inn and I saw no real difference other... More

this hotel used to be fun, entertaining and clean. what the heck happened? the pool area used to be a blast around new years. the bar was always small but entertaining. the banquet room was fun for receptions etc and that fell apart. this absolutely shows poor management decisions.

This property shows former elegance. It is still in excellent physical shape. A large entry into a beautiful atrium complete with pool, hot tub and bar sitting area. The website, as of may 14,2013 listed full restaurant, bar, free internet and continental breakfast included for a very reasonable $89 per night. The problems were that there was no bar, there...
