Cleanest hotel in iowa. Expensive. Nice couch. Wonderful beds that are low to floor and rooms decorated nicely.Only hotel in town. Wonderful housekeeping staff that work exceptionally hard to maintain building. Lots of parking for all sizes of vehicles.

Overall, nice small town hotel. Clean and fairly updated. New carpet and relatively clean facilities. Housekeeping is old school and actually tidies your room daily. Breakfast is a typical continental and maybe a little more in cereals, juice, toast, waffles, yogurt, and breakfast sandwiches. The only complaints I could find, is it could use a little cleaning by the exterior doors as there are lots of construction workers that also use this hotel during the week. However, overall that was not a problem. Room is a bit musty or maybe from a previous smoker, but it wasn’t terrible. I also stayed on the 1st floor so a little noise when someone walks above me, but maybe the 2nd floor is reserved for construction people. That’s in any hotel, may ask about the 2nd floor during next check in. Great view of the corn and fields on one side of the hotel. Look forward to continuing to stay here for a few more weeks.

Room Tip: I believe there only 24-30 rooms. So book soon and the parking lot will fill up on certain days.

The manager cost this hotel aprox. $37, 000.00, because I was signing a year contract with work and would be paying to stay there. She on camera at front desk, was clapping hands in my face first, because I asked to speak to upper management, and kicked out because of a damaged bath cloth and hand towel that she lied and said was a larger towel and when I went down, it was the two smaller items, that I even offered to pay for. One was my personal when she looked at he label. I was told this not your home your a guest when shes only one treating the hotel as if own, bc if go down for breakfast its on camera , also her grandchildren screaming and running with diapers only inside breakfast room , and also when you try to work on the computer, instead of back behind the desk in her own apartment! There barely front desk reception before 11pm when there is to be someone during days, bc of poor cell phone service, I depended on this. If had get keys remade she would blame me , and say , "now this is the second one , you had to have key close to your cell " when I wouldnt, warning me like this would be last time I can get one made god forbid she had to work ! On Halloween, the manger even partied with guest and men were so loud all night long and knocking on doors for sex. I told the manger that I couldn't sleep and with no compensation at all, all she did was admittied to having her own party on property, and said, if you can't have fun at work then you shouldn't work there at all! Its not near anything and not the rest of workers, they were nice, it's sad that the only rude one thats so unprofessional and super rude is the one as a hotel supervisor , thats running the place is behaving like she does and the board allows it. My boss called and told them she was rude maybe she should of shared that the manger just cost them aprox. $37, 000.00 dollars maybe "then" they would of cared over a bath cloth and a handtowel!

We have stayed at the Inn each year since its opening in 2005. We just returned 5/18/2019 from our annual visit and were very pleased with the remodeling done at the Inn. The rooms are updated, neutral colors, new carpet, bedspreads that are washed each stay, comfortable mattress, flat screen TV-- everything so updated and nice. It is a testament to the community to maintain the quality of the Inn.

I stayed her for one night. Given its remote location and the lack of information online, I was skeptical- but there really aren't any other choices nearby. I was expecting old and run-down, but everything is very fresh and modern, so I'm wondering if it has gone through a recent remodel. I had a basic 2-queen room. It had a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and free wi-fi. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. There are only 2 reasons I didnt give it 5 stars. One - I tried to contact them via email and phone prior to my arrival and never could reach anyone. Email was not responded to. Two- the breakfast is extremely basic. Lots of simple carbs ( white bread, plain bagels, waffles). They did have some bananas and yogurt, so I was able to grab something before hitting the road. If in the area again, I would stay here.

I stayed at the Mt. Ayr hotel on business. The gentlemen that checked me in was friendly & knowledgeable. The hotel had a nice smell & was very clean. Reading the reviews, the beds sounded very nice & they were comfy. All that was served was breakfast at the hotel. You would have to go downtown for night meal or along the highway for fast food. Breakfast ok, nothing exceptional. I believe it was only a continental breakfast. However the price of room was reasonable, & the room was clean & comfy - I will definitely be back. The only bad thing was internet was spotty. I was told that happens when its windy or stormy.

Family of four was in town for Dad's high school reunion. Felt very fortunate to secure two rooms six weeks earlier, since it's usually booked up a year in advance for the Memorial Day Weekend. No real complaints . . . the rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable (the shower was terrific!), the staff was friendly and helpful (Manager Mona was responsive, hard-working and great to talk to), the continental breakfast was more than adequate (surprisingly good coffee!) and the other guests were very friendly too. One note for the elderly or disabled . . . this small, two-story motel does not have an elevator. We were happy to reserve rooms for next year too.

We stayed one night in a clean and comfortable room, with a primary goal of getting a good night's sleep. We did. Everything was like new and well-appointed in the building. Staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms and exterior doors are secured by key cards and all room technology is up to date, including ability to set the heat/AC unit to "continuous fan" so it won't awaken you by cycling on and off all night. I was amazed by the cleanliness, particularly considering the evidence that work and farm vehicles had recently been in the parking lot, dropping mud and debris around. Surely this gets tracked in but one cannot tell by the floors and carpeting. Someone pays close attention to this place. There were other guests in the hotel but we never heard them. We appreciated the courtesy of the other guests to tread lightly during sleep hours, and we returned the favor. The breakfast was good but not elaborate. It involved breads and bagels with standard condiments, cereal/milk, hard boiled eggs, juice and coffee. Staff came out and chatted with us during breakfast, while facing up each product and making sure we had everything we needed. To me, this is a nice touch, realizing that some guests probably prefer not to be bothered. When staying, one should note that the front desk is not open 24/7. Please check the desk hours if you plan to check in late, and make proper arrangements.
