Early October we visited the Holiday Shores, and were very pleased. Sure, its not like your regular hotel chain, but that was part of its charm. The river facing rooms have a great view, and it was nice enjoying the "blood moon" and the fire pit each night. The rooms were older but very clean. Being close to the parks... More

Staff very friendly with information about area. Basic but clean rooms. No breakfast during the week. No elevator, wooden steps to second floor. We got one of the rooms facing the River that only had 6 steps to go up. Waved to a tug pushing a load of barges down the River from the deck outside our room the next... More

I want to start out by thanking Darcy and her staff! They were exceptional and always accommodating. The rooms are a bit dated, but they were clean and comfortable. I live in NH and my family has made it an annual event, every fall to visit the river and see the surrounding sites. We have stayed in camp grounds, bed... More

In August we made our 3rd visit to the Shores and we will continue to go back each August, due to the location. The buildings are very old but we noticed many repairs made since last year. The rooms are simple and clean, includes coffee pot and microwave. The location and view is what makes this place very special. All... More

Sept. 12th weekend - motorcycle trip along the Mississippi. Nice to be able to park right outside the room. Very nice and clean hotel. Friendly manager and cook. Loved the breakfast in the morning. The location is perfect along the river and nice patio area. There is a free shuttle that will take you to the casino Lady Luck and... More

Sept 12 to 14 weekend trip to MacGregor area with a stay here. The motel is old, however clean, great front yard adjacent to the Mississippi, and an easy walk downtown to visit shops, dining options, and enjoy the small town atmosphere. The new manager was helpful and attentive to our questions concerning the area. Cecil, the cook was awesome.... More

Gave this place the benefit of the doubt but it was not a hotel worth $80 per nite....Smoke alarm beeping as we entered...wouldn't you change the battery when cleaning? Fire code violation? Upon turning on the heat....had to open the door to ventilate....smelled like a fire....could be a real money maker located on the river....will not be back!!!

Based on the almost exact duplicate wording and date, this appears to be either the same person who posted and reviewed us as Horrible. Both reviews are related to a group who were caught trying to leave without paying and werent happy about being stopped. This was after complaining and getting discounted rooms and eating breakfast they were stopped leaving... More

This motel is outdated; the temperatures were cool and when we attempted to turn on the heat the smoke alarms went off. The bedspread was nasty with stains and the room stunk! They were going to charge $80-night and no way is this worth that amount. I would NOT return to this hotel.

This is the second season that my husband and I have been coming to the Holiday Shores. The rooms are always clean and the river facing rooms have large windows with a fantastic view of the river. There are chairs on the walk around deck outside these rooms so that you can sit outside and watch the river go by.... More
