Sept. 12th weekend - motorcycle trip along the Mississippi. Nice to be able to park right outside the room. Very nice and clean hotel. Friendly manager and cook. Loved the breakfast in the morning. The location is perfect along the river and nice patio area. There is a free shuttle that will take you to the casino Lady Luck and... More

Sept 12 to 14 weekend trip to MacGregor area with a stay here. The motel is old, however clean, great front yard adjacent to the Mississippi, and an easy walk downtown to visit shops, dining options, and enjoy the small town atmosphere. The new manager was helpful and attentive to our questions concerning the area. Cecil, the cook was awesome.... More

Gave this place the benefit of the doubt but it was not a hotel worth $80 per nite....Smoke alarm beeping as we entered...wouldn't you change the battery when cleaning? Fire code violation? Upon turning on the heat....had to open the door to ventilate....smelled like a fire....could be a real money maker located on the river....will not be back!!!

Based on the almost exact duplicate wording and date, this appears to be either the same person who posted and reviewed us as Horrible. Both reviews are related to a group who were caught trying to leave without paying and werent happy about being stopped. This was after complaining and getting discounted rooms and eating breakfast they were stopped leaving... More

This motel is outdated; the temperatures were cool and when we attempted to turn on the heat the smoke alarms went off. The bedspread was nasty with stains and the room stunk! They were going to charge $80-night and no way is this worth that amount. I would NOT return to this hotel.

The author of this review was one of a group of 3 reserved rooms. She came to the office and was given a key for a room that was not cleaned and not supposed to be rented yet. She came down complained and was given the correct room key but not before saying if she didnt get a discount she... More

This is the second season that my husband and I have been coming to the Holiday Shores. The rooms are always clean and the river facing rooms have large windows with a fantastic view of the river. There are chairs on the walk around deck outside these rooms so that you can sit outside and watch the river go by.... More

This old motel is right on the shore of the Mississippi River. True, the place is older, but the rooms are clean! The beds were kind of hard, but the rooms were spacious. The bathroom was recently updated. The exterior has been getting some restoration since I was there a year ago. No elevators, but the view from the 3rd... More

Have wanted to stay here for years, but I was always late in trying to book and due to the Location, it is always sold out. But this time we got a Friday night. The room we had was on the second floor with a great view of the Mississippi. There is a wrap around walkway, that acts as a... More

The staff at the Holiday Shores were very welcoming. The view from our room and property of the Mississippi was amazing and the location was great too. Only complaint was stairs going up to our third floor room, but we got the last two available rooms so we were lucky. When we stay there again, and we will! We will... More
