We drove 3 hours from where we were staying with family to stay here, and we will go back again! Gorgeous place, lots of beautifully furnished rooms where you can hang out, a balcony with furniture you can enjoy the view and a drink on. The corner room where we stayed was lovely, comfortable and quiet. My husband is a... More

We are Wright fans, & we made the trip just to stay in this incredible place, but the pictures on the website don't capture how really beautiful the place is! It was so much fun to wander all over the hotel and see everything. Staff went out of their way to assist us & wish us a good day, etc.... More

Two couples stayed here because of a visit to the memorial in nearby Clear Lake, IA, to the rock and roll legends killed in 1959 in a plane crash, and to the Surf Ballroom where they had played. Our stay at the Historic Park Inn in Mason City was the best part of the trip. We are from Frank Lloyd... More

Wow..What a great hotel. It has been beautifully restored.. We had a lovely room overlooking the park..Great staff. We did not eat in hotel instead ate at Northwestern Steak House which was awesome plus we went to Suzie-Q diner which was also great. All in all had a great weekend in Mason City aka River City. A great city for... More

Stayed in room # 200. Everything was very clean, and the FLW furnishings were elegant. But...the queen sized bed was truly a full sized width with perhaps some extra length; the lighting was odd - bedside lamps could not be turned on/off individually & it took a while to figure out how to turn on the floor lamp!;there was no... Dear Cynthia, Thank you for taking the time to submit a review and for your very nice rating and comments. In any restoration of historical importance, space availability is at a premium. We wanted to put King Sized beds in each room, but even though we increased the size of each sleeping room from FLW’s original design, Kings just wouldn’t... More

What a treat to stay in a Frank Lloyd Wright designed hotel! We enjoyed our stay, and loved the small town feel of Mason City. The hotel is well maintained, and fun to explore. We enjoyed the restaurant space, and the atmosphere of the basement bar. Tour the Stockman House and go on the walking tour. And be sure to... More

I only had one night in this amazing and beautiful piece of history, but I'm really glad I got a chance to experience the only remaining Frank Lloyd Wright designed and built hotel. The renovation is spectacular and the room was well appointed. Great bed, great linens, radiant heating in the bathroom floor, and smart lighting. If you are ever... More

A friend gave us a copy of Preservation mag, and I found an article on this Frank Lloyd Wright hotel in Mason City, Iowa. Being from the Twin Cities south side this was only 90 minutes drive. The town is an architectural walking tour, and the hotel itself is a wonderful experience. We are going to be back many times... More

You have to want to go to Mason City, Iowa. It's off the beaten path, although when the Park Inn and adjacent bank were built in 1910 it was an industrial mecca. Money brought Frank Lloyd Wright to north central Iowa near the end of his Prairie period. Now, more than a century and $20 million later, the Park Inn... More

My husband and I travelled from Chicago to stay at this hotel after reading about it in our local paper. Our stay was definitely worth the trip! The restoration of this hotel is beautiful, the staff is wonderful and it's a must for any fans of Frank Lloyd Wright. We visited both the 1910 Lounge and the restaurant and both... More
