The room was very comfortable and felt inviting. We arrived late so we never did meet any of the employees. We had arranged to pick-up the key at the door, so we let ourselves in and enjoyed a nice night. Thanks for the memorable night!!!

We stayed at this inn on a bicycle trip through the area. It was fantastic. It is located on the second floor of a completely restored building on Main Street. The room was spacious and well decorated. You could easily eat here as there was a table and microwave, etc. We were the only people staying during that night so... More

The Inn was a very nice surprise. Before booking we looked at the website pictures and read the reviews but when we opened the door to room 4, we were still very happily surprised. The website pictures certainly don’t do it justice. Room 4 is really a large studio apartment, about 25’ long, 12’ wide and with 12’ ceilings. The... More

Stayed here during my first ever visit to Lansing, IA. I loved the little town, and having your hotel right on Main Street is super-convenient. It is obvious McGarrity's went through a significant restoration. The rooms are fresh, clean and beautifully done. My only complaint is the ventilation system. Near the ceiling of the room was large diameter steel ductwork.... More

My work takes me to that part of Iowa sometimes, and I wanted to spend more time there. We stayed for the weekend in Lansing at McGarrity's Inn on Main. Note: This is an inn or hotel, not a B&B. We stayed in the smaller suite in the back, which gives a partial view of the Mississippi, with a better... More

When we drove into Lansing we thought 'Oh-oh, this could be a problem." The town is obviously struggling through the economic downturn with closed shops and a worn look. However, McGarity's Inn has been remodeled and unless you like to stay at the Hilton, a great find. Yes, you do climb very steep stairs, but the room is worth it.... More

I loved the location. I loved the room - it was so cute! The brick wall added character and I loved the tile turtle in the bathroom. The shower was very modern and very clean. The bed was unbelievably comfortable! I also liked the private entrance. I missed the fact there was no breakfast, but we have friends in Lansing... More

Stayed for 4 days to visit friends. The owners did a wonderful job restoring and updating an old building in downtown Lansing.. One block to the Mississippi River. On Main Street with lots of neat shops (arts & crafts, souvenirs, art/frames, restaurants, etc.) I recommend walking the 2 blocks to The Safehouse - nice, nonsmoking pub with friendly locals. Clancy's... More

On our way from Chicago to Minneapolis, my wife and I did stay for 1 night at Mc Garrity's Inn. They do have just 4 rooms. We picked the one on the rear side, with a nice view over the Mississippi river. The room has its own bathroom and a kitchenette. The room is furnsihed with "antiques", the bathroom suits... More
