Iowa hospitality at its best. This modest but lovely B&B sits along the beautiful Iowa River, in a neighborhood that will remind you of a Norman Rockwell painting. You will find peace of mind sitting on the front or back porch. Let your mind wander. The B&B is in easy walking distance to the University of Iowa and downtown Iowa... More

Breakfasts are delicious, accommodations are very comfortable, and the owner is helpful, polite, and respectful. It is an easy walk downtown or to campus. An ideal place for couples or singles. The owner is a very knowledgeable, well-traveled, well spoken, and engaging woman. She guides without interfering, and has many interesting guests.

A Bella Vista was recommended to me by a friend and what a gem it turned out to be. Daissy, the proprietor, is a most gracious host full of stories about her travels around the world. Her home is full of memorabilia from her travels and is just like home, comfy and cozy for a memorable stay. Just a short... More

I stayed at this B and B for one night in July of 2014. I expected to spend all my time in my room and essentially run out the clock, but Diassy (the owners) outgoing and welcoming attitude and incredible willingness to talk and interact with her patrons ensured that I stayed downstairs. Because of Diassy I met one of... More

I was here for TWO weeks this June, and it was another excellent experience (see my July 2013 review). Highly, highly recommended for any visit to Iowa City. Comfortable, charming, conversational --- all those things --- and a tasty breakfast, too. I closed my review last year with "Chances are good that I'll be back." It proved to be true,... More

My daughter and I stayed here while visiting for her college orientation. The home is very clean and we were very comfortable. The area is quaint and located in a beautiful historic district. My daughter felt of sense of nostalgia as she described how Daissy's home reminded her of her Cuban abuela's. She couldn't put her finger on exactly why... More

I was driving cross country to move my daughter from Philadelphia. She just graduated from art school. I stayed in a really awful place in Nebraska, over priced and dingy, so I hopped on here to find a good value and better night's sleep. I hate deciding ahead of time where I will still, but this was well worth it.... More

I stayed for 5 nights and it was very comfortable. I enjoyed many conversations with Daissy over breakfast. She is accommodating for gluten free and other dietary needs. I would highly recommend this space to anyone coming to the area.

Enjoyed the get away with friends at A Bella Vista. The setting was quiet and relaxing. Nice area to walk around. Handy to downtown yet easy to get back on the interstate. Her home was clean and comfortable. Loved her pictures
