I spent a little over a week Iowa City to attend to some family business. I have not stayed in Iowa City before and only by luck that I happened upon this motel. This establishment is clean and is kept in good repair. There is a nice restaurant on site, and as a guest of the Travelodge one can arrange... more

This is a very inexpensive hotel that is safe, clean and what I expect for the price. The decor is out of date -- but, who cares? We just wanted a safe place to crash that was clean, and to have everything work. We were not disappointed. The clerk up front was very nice, and even funny. There was parking... more

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel in late March of 2009, in order to visit the University of Iowa. The property is a bit run-down, and definitely has an (unintentional) retro feel to it. Our reservation was in order, and check-in was efficient. We asked the room clerk where to eat, and he said that the attached restaurant,... more

Dirty room, disgusting pool and jacuzzi. Tiny breakfast area with a sign that says you can't take food out of the breakfast area, so we couldn't go to our room and eat, and there was hardly any room in the eating area for everyone. Pool was freezing. We got in, and promptly got out because it was so dirty. Jacuzzi... more

We had five people and two rooms. there were some very minor repairs that could help the place, but we had a great time. Used the pool, hot tub and ate a lot for breakfast. Since we had two rooms I was happy we saved on breakfast and everyone had a great time. I was concerned because of some of... more

This was one of the worst hotels we stayed at in quite a while. We booked four rooms and three out of four had heavy smoke smells. The fourth room had a foul odor from what seemed to be the carpet. One of the doors had been broken into and repaired. Also, there were several body hairs in the bathroom... more

The mold in the bathrooms is quite gross. Major updating needed. You could tell that this was something else at one time and they just slapped thier name on it. Beds were ok nothing great. I didn't see much of the staff other when I tried to clean up a mess with our towels and they got mad because I... more

Room had dark decor and only 3 small lamps for lighting. Noticed small amount of webbing hanging from the textured ceiling. Clothes rod did not easily accommodate standard hangers. Floor tile in the bathroom was very slippery, perhaps because it had not been rinsed thoroughly after scrubbing. Bob's Your Uncle restaurant was adjacent with access through the lobby, and a... more

A good value for $62 including tax. The rooms are on the ground level and one above. I had one on the ground floor, which did make moving in and out fairly easy. HOWEVER, being on the ground floor means that you are that much closer to bugs and other insects that might like to wander into your room. The... more
