After reading "Tripadvisor's" reviews we chose The Landing....an old button factory, made of limestone and beautifully renovated into a delightful place to stay....filled with history....with the original button maker and even some of the first buttons used. My husband and I were traveling with friends and delighted to room across from each other. They had a spacious room that had... More

My partner and I were drawn to this place largely because of the other great reviews on this site. The wonderful comments are true. We ended up in one of the more expensive suites ($139 a night) because the cheaper ones were booked and we decided on this trek at the last minute. Next time we'll plan ahead and get... More

Great place right on the Mississippi. Wonderful view from the balconies. We were thinking about staying in one of the pricier suites but ended up taking a room on the first floor for $59 a night! We were able to use any of the "public" balconies; no problems. Our lower room was very quiet which was greatly appreciated after a... More

We were there for a family get together and basically had the entire upper level reserved. It worked out great as the grandchildren had room to roam. The rooms were nothing fancy, but were spacious, clean, and offered great views from the many decks. Dock space and boat landing are right behind the hotel. It is a little quirky. We... More

(This comes up under B&Bs when you're browsing - it's just an Inn, no food service) I've stayed here 3 times in the past 7 years, twice traveling solo and recently with my husband. I've never been disappointed! The walls are so thick that the rooms themselves are very quiet, but I've found the surrounding area (like the patios, balcony,... More

We found this wonderful little place while driving the Iowa River Road back home. We were looking for a place on the river, and places to walk to, This fit all of our criteria, When we were showed our room (suite) I was in heaven. We had a one bedroom suite with a walk out patio. Then there was the... More

Quiet, clean and comfortable place to stay. On the waterfront, just downstream for one of the locks/dams on the Mississippi. One of the members of our party was boating up for the weekend. There is convenient docking facilities adjacent to the hotel. All around great place to stay.

The Landing is a lovely place with a wonderful up-close view of the Mississippi River. Those who call it a "bed and breakfast" exaggerate. No breakfast, although the coffee was ready on the lower level. The balcony on rooms 31 and 32 on the third floor are directly above a busy boat landing. That doesn't make it particularly noisy, it... More

The conversion of this old button factory into a riverside lodging, smooth and perfect in every detail, is something to behold. We had a riverside suit -- a bedroom, living room/eating area and bath -- with a balcony looking out on the river. Lovely. Very comfortable for 4. It was a great home base for exploring the area, such as... More

Awesome place to stay! Staff was amazing and very welcoming! Room met my expectations and right on the river! What more could you ask for?! Just a weekend getaway with my finance. Will be back!! Played a little sand volleyball and hit the local bar!! Everything was just great!
