Quiet, clean and comfortable place to stay. On the waterfront, just downstream for one of the locks/dams on the Mississippi. One of the members of our party was boating up for the weekend. There is convenient docking facilities adjacent to the hotel. All around great place to stay.

The Landing is a lovely place with a wonderful up-close view of the Mississippi River. Those who call it a "bed and breakfast" exaggerate. No breakfast, although the coffee was ready on the lower level. The balcony on rooms 31 and 32 on the third floor are directly above a busy boat landing. That doesn't make it particularly noisy, it... More

The conversion of this old button factory into a riverside lodging, smooth and perfect in every detail, is something to behold. We had a riverside suit -- a bedroom, living room/eating area and bath -- with a balcony looking out on the river. Lovely. Very comfortable for 4. It was a great home base for exploring the area, such as... More

Awesome place to stay! Staff was amazing and very welcoming! Room met my expectations and right on the river! What more could you ask for?! Just a weekend getaway with my finance. Will be back!! Played a little sand volleyball and hit the local bar!! Everything was just great!

I stumbled upon the Landing when I was driving the Great River Road. I initially stopped because it was right on the river (the # criterion for my nightly stays!). What a delight to find that it actually has a fascinating history as a "pearl" button factory. The owners have original equipment in the lobby so you can envision how... More

What a wonderful find on the Mississippi. Located immediately on the river with it's own dock and Marina, plus a fishing barge when the season open. Wonderful views and high quality, quiet comfortable rooms. Bathrooms very nice, King bed, fridge and microwave. Staff was awesome and beautiful handmade quilts on the beds. A great stay, we'll be back!!

I am a history buff and love to stay in places that give you modern amenities with old-world charm. I ended up in a three-room suite (bathroom, bedroom, and common room) with a room that opened onto the patio next to the Mississippi River. The building is made of old stone, so the walls of my room aided in giving... More

Old converted Button Factory! With nice rooms & interior, we rented 2 rooms across from one another & enjoyed watching barges go up and down the river. There are park areas on both sides N & S of the landing. I meet the Owner, He was on site and willing to help. Our stay was a good experience.

No-one on reception to check us in (around 17:45) but the room key and was on the front desk for us. Double room was very clean and well maintained and fantastic value at $49 - no window/view but not expected. The hotel building itself was very unusual and a nice change from the usual hotels. Great location on the edge... More

I hesitate to extol all the pluses of The landing in Guttenberg, Iowa for fear I will never get in again, Too many guests will overtake this "best kept lodging" on the Mississippi. The rooms are quaint, clean, and inviting. I was surprised to see quilts on the beds instead of the usual bedcoverings used in most motels. Guests were... More
