We visited to explore Grinnell College for a high school junior. I don't normally stay at B and B,s but Marsh House looked beautiful on the web and was right near the college. Oh, wow, how lucky were we! Linda is so kind and accommodating. The house itself is so beautifully restored --- to every last detail, and then some!... More

I can affirm to all the wonderful things previous guests have said about the Marsh House. What a gem! The details in the home are just amazing. Very well done. We are so glad we found it. Thanks Trip Advisor!

This B&B left nothing to be desired. We enjoyed a warm welcome in a beautifully appointed house, with a delicious breakfast where we were joined by our hosts Linda and Jim. Our bedroom was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom featured a treasure of Victorian touches. We like to try different B&Bs when we travel, but when we are... More

This is the best b&b in Grinnell. We are seasoned b&bers from all around the country. They did not bombard us with rules, and yet had the most expensively refurbished home we have probably stayed in. No detail has been left undone. In the afternoon when we arrived we were treated to sherry, scones and cookies. Coffee and tea were... More

Marsh House is a beautiful Queen Anne Style Victorian home situated in a quiet Grinnell neighborhood. The inn is tastefully appointed with period antiques throughout. Beautiful stainglass. Our breakfast was fantastic, served upon vintage china. Our bedroom was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and all of the amenities. Conversations with Linda and JR (the owners) were informative and delightful.... More

So it is recorded that, in 1899, Mr. E.A. Alden lived in this chaste, late Victorian house. As sometimes happens with many houses built in the 19th century, his residence fell into disrepair despite the best wishes of its occupants. About 18 years ago, restoration of this house became a personal project of Linda and James. In 3 large binders,... More

We travel quite a bit, both domestically and internationally. We are not Bed & Breakfast people; in fact, we usually prefer the reliable quality and high-level service of a 4 or 5 star hotel when we travel. However, there is no hotel, motel or B&B that we enjoy as much, or that we would rate more highly, than the Marsh... More

No, I'm not a relative or friend. My wife and I spent a splendid night at Marsh House. The owner's husband and sons' rescued a neglected old house and brought it back to luxurious grandeur. Linda, the owner, was friendly and accommodating through out our stay. Our room was impeccable, the bed very comfortable and the decor spectacular. She served... More

My husband and I stayed at the Marsh House for a Grinnell reunion, and we could not have been more pleased with this B&B. The owners Linda and Jim take care to ensure that all of the extra touches are in place -- from the meticulously selected wall papers to the extravagant furnishings to the comfortable beds and delicious breakfasts... Linda and Jim Paulson I created a b&b that is beautiful yet comfortable. I loved it from my first visit when I dropped my son off as a freshman at Grinnell, and stayed there many times after that. I loved being there so much, I rented the entire house for graduation weekend and my entire family agreed it was a... More
