The hotel and room decor includes lovely antiques and old school styling yet the rooms are quite functional for the business traveler. The owner and staff are terrific and they are all anxious to meet the needs of every guest. There is also a large room on the main level that has a full size pool table and there are... More

We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised with the Kingsley Inn. Originally a laundry, lovingly transformed into an exquisite small hotel with 20 + rooms, each individually decorated with fantastic antiques hand selected by the owner I suppose. Not only are the rooms fantastic, there is a full service restaurant and a lounge with a full size pool table, chess... More

What a delightful visit we enjoyed while in Fort Madison for a friend's wedding. I had never been to town so I took a chance booking the Kingsley Inn. It was such a wonderful decision; what a gem this Bed and Breakfast turned out to be. The Inn is under new ownership as of October 2013 and the Inn Keeper... More

We really liked the 2 room King Suite. All the rooms are different, so choose carefully from the website, or call the hotel for descriptions. I personally love the trains and the river. My favorite part.. The room was absolutely immaculate! Good job!

This wonderful old hotel/inn was very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and furnished with antiques. The bathroom was very large and modern. Although the inn is across the highway from very busy railroad tracks, the "white noise" machine in the room cancelled out the trains. I had very good sleep on the comfortable bed. The breakfasts were wonderful with a... More

My friend, ( a Fort Madison native) drug me to the Inn this weekend. We decided to check the place out since we drive by it quite a bit and wanted to figure out what all the hype was about. This is a bed and breakfast but it's more like a hotel. The owner was nice enough to give us... More

We had a wedding this past weekend and we had the wedding party all stay here. The inn has just reopened and has been updated. The staff was very accommodating and attentive. The breakfasts were incredible and served hot. The atmosphere of the hotel itself is historical and legendary. You will not find a better hotel anywhere else in this... More

We reserved rooms on both sides of RAGBRAI, figuring that it would be just the perfect place to start and end our trip across Iowa. After an 18+ hour drive into town, we were shocked to see a simple piece of paper on the door stating "Closed Until Further Notice". No phone call, no email, no warning that they were... More

This was my second stay here while on a railfanning vacation. For this it is ideally suited with trains regularly passing within a few yards. It has pleasant rooms and an excellent breakfast served with “proper” plates and silver ware, a change from chain motels. But it seems to have gone downhill since my previous visit. The owner/manager who previously... More

We reserved a block of rooms for August and just received emails saying our reservation has been cancelled and don't bother calling because no one is there to answer your calls. Since then I have tried to call, the phone is still connected but no answer and I keep receiving modification/cancellation emails from them. Do NOT give them your business,... More
