I could not have picked a better venue to hold my June wedding at! The staff and management have been excellent to work with and a GREAT help! They really worked with my budget and made me feel like a million dollar bride!! The facility is rustic, romantic, and very cozy for any kind of gathering! Even though this facility... More

The Lodge is a great place to get away with a beautiful view of the Winnebago River. They have groomed cross country ski trails just outside the front door. The rates are reasonable with a restaurant on site so you do not need to leave the building. More

The hotel has everything a person could possibly want, good food, quiet location, beautiful grounds and friendly staff. This place is a must if you are visiting in the Forest City area. More

Having experienced The Lodge when it was at it's peak and when , a few years ago at it's worst, I can say that it is now near where it was at the top. If not a 4 star, it's not for lack of effort. We found our stay and dinner to be great. Living down a poor manager can... More

This was our first visit to The Lodge. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The hotel and restaurant staff were exceptionally nice and the food was excellent and value priced. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay in the area. The Lodge is located in the north central Iowa Corn Belt so don't come here with great... More

My wife and I recently spent five days at The Lodge. We found our room to be quite comfortable and very clean. The staff was friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The meals that we ate at the restaurant were all well-prepared and tasty. The Lodge is a short drive off the highway and is in a somewhat secluded and peaceful... More

We needed a place to stay while we had work done on our motor home at the Winnebago factory. The lodge and the people that worked at it provided us with every thing that we needed. We had a very NICE suite (bigger than our motor home actually) for a very reasonable price. The room was spotless and was furnished... More

My mother grew up in Forest City and so we come to visit relatives every few years. I travel frequently for work in Canada and the US and don't know where you could find such a spotlessly clean suite and breakfast for the price we paid. The setting is spectacular and the service was attentive and friendly. We have a... More

I would stay here rather than a hotel chain over and over again. It’s off the beaten path. Quiet, romantic, & peaceful. I would definitely recommend taking a walk around the gorgeous 17 acre grounds after a delicious dinner in the lodge restaurant. Or first thing in the morning head out your hotel door to the walking path that takes... More

I came with my sisters and a family friend to eat one evening. we were in town to visit relatives (we are from WI and one sister from Mpls, MN). Each of us was dissatisfied with the food...the Greek salad was pitiful...steaks were thin and dry...coffee weak....I could go on but won't...the waitress was friendly but she must have been... More

We have new restaurnat operators who are making quite an impact on the local restaurant business. During the month of July, when the buffet was being served for the Winnebago-Itasca Travelors Grand National Rally, we had 1500 Winnebagos camped next door (nearly 5,000 people). Hundreds left saying this was the best buffet at the best prices they have ever experienced.... More
