The ONLY thing that would make staying here a better experience would be a hot breakfast! Otherwise, we love, love, love staying here! Haven't experienced it except during winter (yet) but the grounds are just gorgeous. We've stayed twice and loved both times. The patios are icing on the cake. I couldn't recommend a hotel more than "The Lodge".

Byron is an excellent host, as well as the staff. Lodge is a little dated but cozy with a great lodge feel and maintained to be very clean. Food is great and would not hesitate in staying here again. Would like to stay in the summer time, with a better chance to experience the on site golf course and take... More

Stayed at the Lodge in business trip. From the moment I walked in it was comfortable. Given great customer service at check in and lived my spacious clean room. Was able to have dinner on sight. Would stay again if in the area.

We arrived at night and instantly fell in love with The Lodge Resort Hotel. The surroundings set back in a wooded area was quite beautiful. Our room was very nice, the service on the phone and in person from everyone we came in contact with was extremely pleasant and warm. Another plus was being so close to Waldorf College where... Upon a recent trip to Forest City we had the pleasure of staying at "The Lodge". It was not new, but is very nice and very clean. We will definitely stay there again if we get to go back to Forest City. I would highly recommend staying at "The Lodge"

We enjoyed a friendly welcome, quiet, lush, oak grounds and clever touches in décor. Our room in the stables was small and worn to fine patina but sufficient for a brief stay and we had a little patio area to sit and watch the busy Fall squirrels. The location is good - away from the highway and yet close to... More

You must stay at this MARVELOUS resort. Very reasonable and the accomendations with breakfast was excellent. Very friendly staff and the ambience was perfect. Restaurant on site. This resort was the home of the founder of Winnebago Industries. Very convenient to the tour of the factory. Walking trails are right three as well. You will love this resort. BOOK NOW!!!

The grounds are beautiful, and the room was clean. Check in took a really long time because the desk clerk had to dig through a bag of keys to find the room key for several people in front of us. A little organization in storing room keys would have sped the process up tremendously. We stayed in the stable and... More

We are always disappointed if we fail to make our guest's stay a "like coming home" experience. Our chief reward is found in the satisfaction we experience when our guests enjoy their stay. If we fail... please know that it is with reject. If we succeed, please know that it is with great joy. More

Very spacious, tastefully decorated rooms, surrounded by beautiful parklands. The nicest accomodation in 3 weeks of travelling. After a long day on the road we checked in then sat in the restaurant with a glass of wine overlooking park & waterways. Stunning ambience, would highly recommend

The staff was very accommodating and let us choose our rooms. Great value. The only downside was that the restaurant was not open on Sunday and the continental breakfast was not the best. The grounds are very nice and it was such a treat to see fireflies in the evening - something we don't get to see in California.
