My husband and I spent two nights at the Hancock House for our anniversary. Everything about the weekend was perfect. Chuck and Susan are wonderful hosts, the breakfasts were delicious and the house is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be back!

I fell in love with Dubuque and it all started at this B&B. My view from Mr. Hancock's Room over downtown was great. Chuck and Susan are gracious hosts who make you feel at right at home. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My husband and I stay at this B and B every time we return to Dubuque to visit family and friends. Not only is the house beautiful, but Chuck and Susan are the best hosts ever! Breakfast is always a delight and Susan even shares recipes. Chuck is very knowledgeable and has wonderful stories to share. Sitting on the porch... More

Based on a conversation my wife and I had with a couple we met on one of our trips we decided that when we visited Iowa (my 49th state) we would stay in Dubuque. I did extensive research for lodging and finally decided on The Hancock House. When making our reservation I spoke with Sue ( she and her husband... More

We stayed at The Hancock House for our 25th Anniversary. While researching places to stay in Dubuque, we decided to try a Bed and Breakfast. Not knowing what you will get from pictures on the internet, we chose The Hancock House, and we absolutely made the right choice!! The house and grounds are just beautiful, and the owners Chuck and... More

The Hancock House is beautifully placed on the bluff overlooking the old town and the Mississipi valley, with views to die for from the rooms and the porch. The good looks of the exterior are matched by the decor inside which has great period charm. My room was Mr Hancock's on the first floor up with a great panoramic view... More

As I told the owners, any other bed and breakfast that we ever stay in will have a hard time measuring up to our first experience. The house is a beautiful old Victorian set upon a hill overlooking the city. Landscaping was obviously well manicured throughout the year (even for early spring before blooming season). Inside the house you are... More

We have been to Dubuque several times, but this time was the best because we stayed at Hancock House B&B. The hosts Susan and Chuck have done everything right. The furniture and decor are authentic; the house itself is immaculate, well maintained, and, most importantly, so inviting. The house is on a bluff overlooking the city and the Mississippi where... Overlooking the Mississippi River town of Dubuque this B&B meets all the criteria for charm, food, and location. Staying for 3 nights we enjoyed some great breakfast foods. Just what was needed for a few days away. (It didn't bother us but note that the TVs in the rooms are small. If you are there to watch tv shame on... More
